Knecht wasnt really a bad player. He was a rookie, who still shot almost 38% from 3. Who knows what his eventual role is, but there is always room for improvement moving from college to the pros.

Knecht didn’t impress me as far as rookies go. Seems like maybe a Duncan Robinson type player. I don’t think he’s a good addition to our team as he has a long way to go.

I think we’re done until the deadline. Folks. Time to see what I can do with this team on 2K25.

what did you expect from the 17th pick? a starter from day 1?

I think I’d trade WCJ for whatever and let Goga run the 5 until we can upgrade it.

Activating Skybox powers:

Orlando outgoing:

Wendell Carter Jr.
Goga Bitazde
Jett Howard
X2 SRP’s

Orlando incoming:

Nicholas Claxton (lob threat)

Brooklyn outgoing:

Nicholas Claxton

Brooklyn incoming:

Goga Bitazde
Jett Howard
Gabe Vincent (waived/bought out)
‘31 FRP via Lakers
X2 SRP via Orlando

LA Lakers outgoing:

Gabe Vincent
2031 FRP (debate the protections)

LA Lakers incoming:

Wendell Carter Jr.

Works financially for all parties. Opens a couple of roster spots for Orlando to pursue additional FA’s at the min. Everyone seems to benefit.

We are win now. We have enough developing to do of our current players and need to move Jett.

I don’t think we are the right team for him.

I'd do it. LAL should. BRK should (it's all about the picks and Goga's a solid placeholder while Jett gets a one year tryout). ORL re-ups Moe and signs some 7' vet like RoLo, Tristan Thompson, even Bamba...they just have to hang in there until Moe's back. I'd also spend some time in the summer experimenting with some faster-paced stuff with Penda and, possibly Isaac or Paolo at C. Bane and Tyus came from a fast-paced offense and it would certainly suit Suggs...I'm not talking full-conversion, but a different look to throw at teams that match up well with Paolo & Franz iso ball.

This is the kind of trade that makes us serious contenders in the East (and, if the chemistry clicks for the ring), not "in the mix" or "interesting"

Does it make us a little fragile at C - yes. That's life. We're already fragile throughout our frontcourt...major injuries generally sink seasons. If Jokic twists an ankle, DEN isn't a playoff team. If Giannis gets tummy ache, MIL isn't an NBA team, etc

I don’t think Knecht is all that good, but if Jett is departing and Caleb isn’t coming back, there is a need for additional bench shooting depth which he would provide.

The key to the deal is saving the money anyway.

If Caleb doesn’t return and they punt Jett, they’re down to just five guards and if you want to extend that to SF as well they’d only have 7 guys for 3 spots.

That’s potentially tricky when one of them (two if you count Bane) is very injury prone and another is currently a teenager.

I, for one, hope that Caleb returns or at least Queen.

One of the few things to follow for the offseason:

A. Is Giannis staying?
B. Will Joker resign?
C. Where will LeBron play next season?
D. What about Luka's commitment for the Lakers?

I know I know it could have nothing to do with Magic. But the wildest offseason is correct statement. We will see. BTW I hope Paolo extends his rookie contract.

Claxton seems like a knucklehead - definitely not the type of DNA we historically bring into the family.

I understand wanting a center like Claxton but not him.

His feel of the game and basketball IQ dont measure up.

I'd trade WCJ and several seconds for filipowski just to be rid of him and his upcoming contract. We'd have room for mo then and a salary fitting 3rd string center
