If all it’s taking is 5 million to keep him and ownership doesn’t want to do it, then that sucks. Like seriously trade Hauser or someone to get it done. Do not want him on the Lakers.

If this is true (doubtful, it's the NY Post), then it's a disgrace.

Horford to the lakers for that money would be really stupid, he had better options like sign with Knicks before the yabusele signing o sign with denver to be on a real contender as the main backup big because valanciunas is trash.

What you’ve stated in all caps is the party line. It might be the reality — but I personally don’t think that it is. I think it’s a cop out, and an understandable one, to duck under not just the second apron but all the way under the tax this summer. Reset the repeater penalties. I’m not mad just disappointed

Ducking the 2nd apron and those restrictions, IMO, is a basketball move. You have to reset those penalties. If we stayed over that, combined with the Jrue trade taking our '29 pick, we basically lose all ability to trade 1sts starting next years. it'd be pretty crippling to team building. Tatum/Brown/White give us too high a floor to ever really "build through the draft" as far as replacing Jrue/Porzingis level players which was going to be needed because of age/injury even if they weren't traded.

I can see an argument for if you have the best team, keep the team together. Thought that top 7 was pretty special — 8 if we include Luke. He was stepping up for KP the way Pritchard was stepping up for Jrue.

Thought we could get another ring or two out of it.

Paying whatever it cost to win banners wasn’t true when Wyc and Co said it, nor when Chisholm did.

On to the new adventure. There could be banners ahead this way, too — let’s hope so!

It's directly quoting and linking to a Lakers podcaster, so maybe the podcaster is wrong but the Post is correct in reporting the podcaster's claim.

fallguy wrote:If you look at the KP and Jrue acquisitions, I think Brad learned something from Danny about big game hunting. I doubt we'll see it happen this summer but I would be surprised if Brad's goal is not to find a *star* at the center spot (or a more traditionally physical PF) to add to his core for 26-27.

I can't prove this obviously and it would come at a price, but that would be my bet.

I don’t know if he learned it from watching Danny fail to do so, but Brad seems to know when he wants something, to pay what it costs.

That means a first to get Al back? Done. Pick became Sengun but whatever.

Smart for KP? Done. Oh you want to add a pick or two? Cool, we’ll take it

6MOY plus Rob Williams plus two firsts for Jrue? Hell yes

All of those contributed to Banner 18, and all of them seemed like cases where Danny might not have pulled the trigger because it wasn’t going to be an epic fleecing in Boston’s favor

Let’s do it again, Brad!

He's got the potential to possibly make an all-star team as a Celtic. Just turned 26..still getting better.

I can not agree with you More. Simons is a LEGIT offensive weapon. A floor spacer who can attack the basket. I am guessing some need time to see the evidence. But that time will come if Brad doesn't make a trade (I am guessing it won't happen)

Yeah, serious offers only or better to keep him for the year, or at least until the deadline, and see what we got, see what he can become in the system.

That Lively trade that was proposed here? Sure, let's look into getting a real player, but Simons is more than just some trade ballast to get the numbers right.

I was advocating trading brown for simons and portlands #2 pick a while back. Simons has not improved. At all.

Still takes bad shots, still is comoletely lost defensively, is way to small for a shooting guard and isnt skilled enough to be a point guard. If not for a hot shooting January he was below league average at everything.

He should have taken a jump by now. 7 years in league, 4 years over 30 mins a game and a green light and it hasnt clicked despite all opportunity.

Its not going to happen.

Some will say...derick white.

White was in his 5th seaso, has good size, was always a great defender, passer, ft shooter high iq on the court but a questionable shot. He had everything but a jumper.

Sikons has a jumper, at times white hot, most time below average and nothing else...i cluding his size.

Just remember the last time Al jumped ship and went to a rival, the Cs went to the ECF.

Think Jordan Poole 2022 when it comes to Simons.

Boucher is still available. I'd take him for the minimum.

But he doesn't play defense.

I never heard anyone say KP can't rebound for a 7'3 guy. KP can't set screens.

Simons is so underrated on this board. If we keep him the entire season, then we have a good team next season. If he is given any, then we are a lottery team and it's going to be a long season of losing.
