But I keep hearing Dolan is making decisions despite reliable reporting and his close friends saying that Leon is consistently getting the final call.

Anyway, I’m willing to give Brown a chance and see what he can do. I already like his experience and energy, let’s see if he can bring us everything we were missing last year.

Isn't Rick loyal to Thibs even more so than his own son??

If Thibs goes to another team, I can see Rick following him, I think even Rick is sick of being dad-son collusion... he knows JB is gonna be JB with/ without him, I think he wants to be his own man an assistant who can become a head coach one day

Great selection. Perfect fit for this team IMO.

If he underperforms we can fire him after 1.5 seasons and one of them can succeed as the HC

Very underwhelming for me, if they want someone who goes to the bench deep and plays the young players Brown isn't exactly the first name that pops up

I wouldn't have fired Thibs only to hire Mike... if this is the result, I'd have kept Thibs and added Nori/ Bryant/ Borrego to the bench instead

Speaking of Thibs, the fact lottery teams wouldn't immediately fire their coaches and hire Thibs speaks volumes on how good they think of him as a hc thesedays

Actually, if you were his employer and the person paying his salary, and you saw Thibs stop listening to his assistants, take a "his way or the highway" approach and (as reports state) stop communicating with you, yeah, you probably would have fired him, too. Any good boss with an ounce of business acumen would have done so.

define out of contention and we can wager?

Two more Achilles tears to the best players on Orlando and Cleveland and we are RIGHT there.

These kind of posts aren't adding anything to the discourse. They are basically just trolling.

It's been well documented that Thibs doesn't listen to his assistants. It's his way or the highway. Just one of the many reasons he's gone.

Hmmm, this thread isn't as long and insane as I thought it would be. I'm perfectly fine with the hire, and I'm going to give him a chance. The players will like him, that is for certain.

Can we at least KAT at the 5 with a lineup that makes sense first though? I think there’s a lot of potential there.

But from what Begley said, it seems like Mitch will be the starting 5.

How does Begley know that? Brown was just hired and we don’t know what’s up with Borrego yet. No way the starting lineup is already decided.

I hear what you’re saying, just was thinking of this tidbit:
