But there are a small few that indeed are still not high on Matas.

Buz will be a star.

Think he will be our #1 and we will see some of it this season.

I could see him being a star, but I don't think he'll ever be a #1.

Why?

How many stars are not #1 options?

I’d love for the Bulls to move Vuc but who replaces him? He’s probably the best stretch 5 option left. Unless AK has a miraculous pro-tank revelation, a summer trade seems unlikely.

There's a lot of stars that aren't #1s. In fact, most stars aren't #1s. Superstars are typically the #1s.

What players like him have ever been #1s?

Getting back another starting center doesn’t necessarily matter in a potential Vuc trade . Any player they get regardless of position is fine since they already have Collins and Smith.

Not the best options but they are solid and are capable of starting for the upcoming season. Then can always get the long term replacement center next trade deadline or summer.

True. I completely forgot Collins was on the roster. Though I wouldn’t call him a stretch 5.

So basically it's going to be all the sign and trades into 1 mega deal.

Correct - it's all player moves that have already been announced that some cap nerd is working on the way to make it better for everyone

Most wings/guards that are stars are 1s. Cs or pure PG’s normally aren’t 1s.

I think Buz is going to be a really good shooter. Not great but better than good. 7+ attempts per game and 40%. Also think he is going to get FTs as he fills in and attacks the rim. Probably 5 per game. That is the foundation for a really efficient player.

Buz will get some easy buckets from a great passing PG in Giddey each game.

Where I really believe in him is on ball in the secondary break before the defense is set. Think he will eventually be unguardable especially downhill due to his handle and step throughs with his ability to make middies as well.

You also just described Coby White, who half the board wants to trade.

7+ attempts on 40%+ shooting...that's great, not good lol.

When has Coby shot 40% or more from 3 on 7 attempts and averaged 5 FTA?

Giddey will resign and we will have our core set of Matas-Coby-Giddey.

Plenty of reasonably solid supporting players around them this year - Tre, Ayo, Huerter, Okoro, PWill, Collins, Vuc.

Time to start thinking about what is possible for our core three guys -

- I optimistically see Coby being a 23-25ppg scorer, continuing his post ASB momentum, being a legit bonafide scorer without Zach/Demar around
- Giddey settles into a 18/8/8 statline, with upside for more
- Matas takes the next step and ups his scoring into the 15-20ppg range. Shows signs of an all star appearance on the horizon. He will be “that dude” for us in the next few years.
