Part of the 'collaborative coach' thing is probably keeping some of the assistants on, I'm sure Brown will have a few of his own but it seems that there will be a few sticking around, too. Whether it's continuity or whatever you want to call it, that was probably part of the gig.
Again, it definitely seems like part of the reason Jenkins likely lost some of his 'energy' for the job. He already had to deal with that in Memphis and even if it's not the same undercutting element as it was there, he just didn't want no part of that at all.
There's very little chance that anyone can present a convincing argument to me that Brown wasn't always the pick, possibly even with the Kidd part of it. The whole 'no plan' about the process or who was just media driven clickbait drivel.
Brown was their guy the moment they decided to fire Thibs, the whole interview process was kabuki theater to satisfy the appearances of it. That's why Bryant never even interviewed and it lingered through the draft and FA period, they always knew who it was going to be.
