Lmao no way Golden State helps the Lakers pair Luka and Giannis, good lord.

The Cavs are more than $20M+ over 2nd apron and LBJ makes considerably more than Garland. It's just not happening.

Wouldn't be just for a straight swap, I don't care where Lebronny (nickname I'm giving them) goes, any where is fine by me, just don't want Butler or anyone else really in there 30's, might not have to much of a choice, we'll have to come out and see what teams Lebronny lists if it does happen.

I think the point here is that because LBJ makes more than Garland, Cleveland would have to aggregate salaries which would trigger a hard cap at the second apron. So they'd have to send out LeBron's full salary plus an additional ~$20M to make the deal legal.

I know, that's why I said it wouldn't be a straight swap, others will be included, also where ever Bron goes his son goes that's another $4mil or whatever his earning

Yeah ok so how does Cleveland shed an extra $35M to make the Garland for LBJ/Bronny swap legal? That's not a "tinkering on the margins" question, it changes the fundamental nature of the trade. Keep in mind that if LA adds salary they'd be hardcapped at the first apron themselves.

Are you going to include Allen or Hunter? Pay someone to take Strus into cap space? These are not insignificant questions.

Unless there are more and better picks than I think the Lakers have access to, you are missing a lot of value. Like Luka Doncic level value since Giannis is the better player (though Doncic is younger).

Allen hell yes, but Bron would say no, he would want to play with Allen, I would for Hunter esp if DFS is gone?

The Warriors were on a 60 win pace after acquiring Butler, so I can't see this being entertained. Fit is perfect. Obviously it's unlikely the old guys will get 60 (looking for 50+ next year) but I don't see why the Warriors would rock the boat for someone over 40.

Even throwing in Hunter you'd still need to find another $12M

I’d happily trade Garland and Strus for LeBron but I don’t think it’s possible because the Cavs can’t aggregate.

If Nico isn’t too afraid to deal with LAL again, Dallas should have some interest in Butler or LBJ..

Butler could like playing with AD/Kyrie.. They’d both let him or LBJ be the lead whenever the new old man wants.. Would need to find some cheap shooters, but at least it would be an actual direction with some upside for a year or two.. then you try to retool around Lively/Flagg..
