I think I’d be fine moving the ‘31 1st for Keegan. He’s young enough where a year from now, if he does well next to Giannis, his value may appreciate, and we’d have more to offer for a big fish.

Naive question: AJ Green is under contract w the Bucks through 26-27? When can we extend that?

Is Murray really that much better than Kooz? I mean being in Sac could be slowly killing his soul but he strikes me as such a meh player. A slightly more serious version of Kooz.

Yes, definitely. He’s developed a ton as a defender since he’s come into the league. At this point, he’s very good on that end, and versatile. His motor is high, and his ability to read the defense off-ball has really improved.

He routinely guarded the best player on the opposing team this past year, and for a guy his size, does a really nice job opening up his hips.

Offensively is the weird part. As his defensive assignments have gone up, his shooting has gone down. He’s not a self creator at this point. He’s a spot up, and slight movement shooter, who has the ability to attack closeouts in a straight line, and get out in transition.

His finishing around the hoop is very good, but his limited handle limits his ability to get all the way there, regularly.

I think the point, though, is do we think he’d go from a player who’s worth one first when we acquire him, to two firsts after playing alongside Giannis. I think he’d help us this year, but very possibly could be a nice investment one year from now, too.

Simmons also could have taken a victory lap on his post trade opinion of Dame, who in many ways was sort of like our Celtics version of acquiring Kyrie. A move that seemed good at the time but completely backfired.

That is an interesting analogy. Both teams didn't do so well with their stars plus an offensive undersized pg. But got a championship when you change him with Drew.

The Celtic's relatively cheap ownership group weren't going to pay a half billion to keep the team together anyways. A team like the Wolves or even us having to deal Middleton to get below the apron to even have a modicum of flexibility were arguably more impacted.

I know were going to be heavily point Giannis reliant, but adding Turner and keeping Sims should ease his defensive load quite a bit and also let Bobby be able to slot in for him during load management games without screwing with the rotation too much. Bobby has been really good in most games filling in for Giannis over the last couple of years.

You can use the MLE in a trade, so that would open up the possibilities, but I’d also be wary of having to then give up something more to Indy.

Horst shouldn’t give Indy anything of value if they are the ones asking for a sign and trade. Indy would have to add value to our end since they would be the ones gaining something from the trade, not us.

It’s time for Horst to finish this thing off.

MIL gets Trey Murphy and Jose Alvarado
NOP gets Kuzma, Green, 2031 1st (unprotected) and 2032 1st swap.

Sign Amir Coffey and Ryan Rollins and call it a day.

PG - KPJ, Alvarado, Rollins
SG - GTJ, Harris, AJax
SF - Murphy, Prince, Coffey
PF - Giannis, Bobby, Smith
C - Turner, Sims

This is a young, athletic roster that can shoot and defend. I’m fine with Horst blowing our remaining assets if it he can get a budding star like Murphy.

Porter Jr (25)| Alvarado (27) |Rollins (22)
Trent Jr (26) | Harris (30) | Ajax (23)
Murphy III (25)| Prince (31) | Coffey (28)
Giannis (30)| Bobby (30)| Smith (20)
Turner (29) | Sims (26) | Markovic (19)

The age of the Bucks in this scenario. Giannis as the elder statesmen with a younger, faster team. In full agreement, going from one of the oldest and slowest teams to this has not been talked about enough.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Love it for the Bucks and I know Dumars is a goof but I can’t see even him being dumb enough to think pairing Poole and Kuzma back together is a winning recipe.

How the hell did Joe Dumars and John Hammond put together those 2000-2006 Piston’s teams.

The same way Hammond put together a championship team with the two most important pieces.

Yes. And that added value would be us giving them Kuzma.

So if we did this, would that create a TPE or just open up cap space?

Why not offer the Nets Kyle Kuzma and a second from 2594 for Cam Thomas?

The nets want out of the Cam thomas business. No one can afford to pay Cam in free agency. Offer Cam a 2 year + 1 year PO at the same rate Kuzma gets. He can become a FA on two years at 25 years old if he chooses.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Still would be light at the 2/3 spot but that’s a good idea.

From everything I've read on Pels groups is that they absolutely love Herb and Murphy. I've been super high on both guys for years and I'm glad others are now too. Unfortunately I doubt we have the ammo to get Murphy but he would be a homerun pickup. Herb would also be a really really good pickup. Both are on really good contracts as well

You need wings like Trey Murphy and Herb Jones more than anyone in the league if you want to try and win with Jordan Poole.
