Miami Youth Movement (Jazz and Rockets)

Post#1 » by ThaFranchize84 » Thu Jul 3, 2025 1:29 pm

Reports are that Miami is looking to lean further on their young players this season and potentially have a “gap year” as they gear up for the 2026 offseason. In that case I wanted to see what these two simple moves could do to further that plan. Also what the Heat would potentially get for Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson.

Trade 1: Jazz get Rozier and Heat get Collins

Why? Both teams seem to be desperately trying to move these players for better roster balance. Miami brings Collins home to be the 3rd players in the power rotation of Ware and Bam. He fits age wise and could be a great floor spacer alongside Bam, Ware and Jovic. He would play a similar role to what Toppin plays for the Pacers. For Utah they open up more playing time for their young players in the frontcourt. Rozier can help mentor the backcourt guys and would be a great buyout candidate or expiring deal later in the season around the trade deadline.

Trade 2: Houston gets Haywood Highsmith and Heat get Cam Whitmore.

Why?

Houston is really deep and playing time might be very limited for Whitmore. They add Highsmith who is a very high quality low cost 3 and D player who can help along DFS and Thompson. To be able to roll out a wing defensive rotation to include those 3 could be crucial in the playoffs and could rival OKC. For Miami they take a chance on Whitmore and add him to their young wing rotation of Herro, KJ, Pelle, etc.

Trade 3: Andrew Wiggins?

The third player the Heat need to consider dealing for combination of expiring contracts/future assets/young players is Andrew Wiggins. He could be a great impact role player on a contending team. He is a little older now for the Heat’s timeline. Open for ideas on potential deals. Lakers and Rui and Dalton and to the Warriors for Kuminga as potential options.

Trade 4: Anyone interested in Kyle Anderson for 2nds?

Rockets can't afford to trade Whitmore for Highsmith and stay below the apron. Doubt Miami with do it anyways
