There is no chance LeBum would sign for the minimum anywhere so that's why I didn't even have it an option. Clearly we either trade KAT straight up for him or maybe something like OG, Mitch and Deuce for him and his scrub kid.

I'm sure you can find plenty if you spend 15 years making up reasons to dislike him because you're the one fanbase that hasn't gotten over him not signing with you in 2010.

You know what this reminds me of? It reminds me of the dudes that say Knicks fans only dislike Randle because he put his thumbs down at Knicks fans.

The Decision was ages ago. The Knicks' fanbase's reaction to the Decision was ages ago too. Get over it.

Like I said, if he ever chooses to come here, I'll take him.

OK, let's say it's 2030 and Haliburton is a free agent and we need a guard. Would you sign him? Even after all the **** he's done? What about if Embiid gets healthy and wants to come here? Does the past just doesn't matter to you and you'll take anyone no matter what?

People who have no problem with him coming here sound like the dudes who wait for a girl's breakup to have a chance at sleeping with her. A lot of Knicks fans are like that...always pining for something on the other side of the fence. It was forgivable in the past because we sucked and were desperate and lived on hopes and dreams...we have a contender now and some are still ready to spread their cheeks for this guy, someone who isn't needed on this team at all.

It's not the basketball player some of us don't like...it's the manipulating, always saying bs to mold his narrative, fit his agenda, drama filled way in the way this man operates that rub some of us men the wrong way. Not once in his career have I heard him mention Riley, Love, Kyrie, Bosh or anybody else that helped him get to where he is at. Even Wade keeps his distance now. Give me one time this selfish narcissist sat there and owned up to ****....and people are ready for that drama here...ready to turn this place back into the superstar circus his boy Carmelo left behind.

Love this team......let them be. KD, Lebron....yeah now we're cool, right? And to the guy that said he didn't come here because we were mismanaged, no, he said with his own mouth that his wife convinced him not to because if he thought the spotlight on him is bright already, the one that would be on him in NY would burn him to ashes, and he doesn't have the spine for that, and she didn't want to put him and her family through that.

In other words, he's a pussy, who would've jumped at the chance if we were title favorites, but he wasn't coming here to build something. Never has...all he did was turn the Lakers into the circus we once were, and I'm enjoying the **** out of it.

The nerve of these Johnny Come Lately Knicks fans to question the logic of our loyalty...foh.

Why would Lakers waive his player option and eat the 50+MM just to let him join the rival? Min Vet is never a possibility.

It's more delusional to think in this way than rejecting Lebron in all scenarios.

Like I keep saying

Some dudes are overly emotional. Let their feelings get in the way of logic and reason

If you can get a player of LeBron's caliber, even at 41, on a minimum contract, that is insane value

But he didn't want to sign here in 2010 because he was trying to escape incompetent management, so therefore some dudes have spent their entire adult lives personally slighted by everything he does. Weirdo behavior.

I thought he didn't want to come here because he liked Miami Beach and low Florida taxes. And the heat were in a better position to win with room for 3 free agents compared to our two.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

No. Trading assets for a one year rental at 40 is mismanagement

Getting off-topic, but to be honest, on-topic kinda sucks anyway (do you want Lebron on a min).

No, I wouldn't take anyone. I wouldn't take Kyrie, for example. But I mean, I also watched the Yankees sign Johnny Damon and win a chip with him. We also ended up signing Verdugo and Ellsbury and getting jack squat but that's beyond the point.

I agree here. Zach Lowe brought up that in a way LeBron helps clean up the books long term, which I kind of agree with.

I think the only deal that would get me excited is LeBron and the Lakers 2031 1st for Towns.

Brunson/Bridges/Anunoby/Lebron/Robinson

LeBron is better than Towns right now and can be the secondary ball handler/shot creator that we really lack. The window is very small here, good chance it’s only a year, but the East is wide open.

This tees us up to cash out on Anunoby when LeBron retires - and I think OG’s value will go up when he’s down to 3 years and $136mm left on his deal - to rebuild around Brunson/Bridges and cap space.

And like I told you before when we discussed this, you were obviously really young and weren't even a fan from 2008-2010 and didn't experience what happened so your opinion doesn't count.

For those who did experience it, you all know all too well how LeBum teased and flirted about coming here for two years only to make the decision to sign with our most hated rival in our back yard. If you were around that time and are a diehard fan, it's nothing something you forget or forgive.

It's amazing this still isn't talked about but LeBron had already made his decision in the summer 2008. Wade was being used as a spy, remember that meeting with Riley about the uniform change from 23 to 6, and people really believed there wasn't collusion then, come on lol.

Wade, LeBron, and Bosh were stealing info from other teams during FA. The whole FA process was one huge charade.

It's like pursuing a hot woman for years who constantly dismissed you with insults. Then, once you strike it rich, she suddenly wants to marry you—refuses to sign a prenup—and then after a year, walks away with half your fortune. HELL NO!!!!!!

I do find it funny how it's the same dudes every year creating rumors that LeBron wants to come here so they can say they don't want him

It's like a middle-aged dude obsessing over a girl who rejected him in high school pretending like she's gonna show up one day begging him to take her back, except now he gets to be the one rejecting her

Kinda funny, mostly pathetic.

The jilted boyfriend stuff aside, I don't know if trading KAT and whatever picks are left for a one year rental of LeBron seems wise.

Even once LeBron's contract expires, the team will still be over the cap if I'm not mistaken.

I mean if we win it's a genius move but that's not guaranteed and I don't know if Mitch can last an entire season at C as a starter.

It's absolutely not lol

And compiling contracts to trade for him is just as bad

The only way it would be a good move is if he gets bought out and signs for the minimum. Which isn't happening.

The media is pushing for this and all I can think of is LeBron gets traded here, gets injured or something and then the same media pushing for this starts calling for Leon and Mike Brown's heads because the Knicks did what they wanted them to do: make an insane trade that leaves you in worse shape than before if the team doesn't win a championship.

If LeBron wanted to play for the Knicks he wouldn't have opted in. This is purely media driven garbage because we're in the dog days of summer and they don't care to talk about MLB or WNBA :-?

Most disappointed in Alan Hahn. He sounds ridiculous almost begging Leon to do this. :nonono:

I could see Lebron getting a GM role here after retirement, fans getting excited over it at first and then the Knicks organization being set back for 5 years after proving why he was never qualified for the position to begin with.

Hahn pissed me off the other day, I tuned into his show to get feedback on the Brown hire and all he kept talking about was LeBron to the Knicks.

Be careful what you wish for.
