A poster on the T&T board suggested Gafford for Payton Pritchard. Thoughts?
I really like it the more I thought about it. Pritchard is on a very reasonable deal, can hit the 3 and create for others. His presence would also limit D-Low's minutes, who sucks, and Exum's minutes who gets hurt if he plays too much. Plus PP is friends with Cooper.
I'd imagine that to make the $ work, Niang from Bos and Williams from Dal would have to be included. Would you guys do it?

It appears that Nico is building a huge team and the NBA also appears to to be scared of that. All of a sudden every West team is trying to get bigger because they know Dallas is bigger and deeper than every other title contender. Gafford isn’t going anywhere unless it’s a deal that blows the Mavs away. Payton Pritchard isn’t that guy.

I like Pritchard but not sure I'd give up Gaff for him. Hoping we could do better in a Gaff trade.
And the way the west is beginning to get loaded up with bigs, Gaff is becoming more of a necessity than a luxury.
I'm still hoping we trade Gaff and PJ for assets that fit more in Flagg's timeline than Kyrie/AD/Klay's.

Vogel, Triano with Penberthy or Handy (as rumored) will be better than Sweeney, Dudley and Shamgod IMO.
Now upgrade that medical staff.

No, that's not enough value for Gafford.

Pritchard isna great value for Gafford and I doubt Celtics do it, he's one of the best contracts in the league.

Yea dont see Bos doing it, but if they would, Mavs definitley should. I'd imagine Dallas could get a serviceable enough big for Martin, and AD should be playing some 5 with PJ, Naji, and Flagg playing the 4.

We have no chance at being better than the Rockets.Darren wrote:DFS joins Houston. This is a hell of team. The Mavs has to study how Houston plays early.
It will be fun to watch our young players develop throughout the season.

If we face off in playoff, HOU will have 8-man rotation of FVV/Amen/Eason/KD/Smith/DFS/Sengun/Adams, we will be 10 man rotation of KI/Dlo/Klay/Max/Flagg/Naji/PJ/AD/Lively/Gaff, I wouldn't say we definitely will lose. But obviously, the SG position is our weakest link, but I really struggle to see how to improve it, other than Derrick White, in which BOS has a super high price tag on him currently.

D Low IQ shouldn't get one minute of playoff action if the main guys are healthy unless it's a 45 point difference

So with Luka gone and the scoring being spread around don’t guys think we will see Lively taking some 3’s. We’ve seen videos of him shooting 3 in practice. Any chance he starts taking them in the games?

I don't think honestly that the west is scared by a team who didn't even reach PO last year... Smokescreen.
Harrison signed a better PR team this time.

Luka is the best 3pt shot generator in history, if Lively didn't shoot 3s with him, he's not shooting them now...

The coaching makeover caps an amazing off season
1. Win the lottery and draft a generational talent.
2. Retain Kyrie Irving on a bargain deal.
3. Find a stop gap solution on the TPMLE, D'Lo's deal is also a bragain.
4. What started as a disaster in the making for the coaching staff, ended up as a massive upgrade, Vogel is great, actually won a ring with AD, and the new hires look very professional.
I wanted to tear it up, if not, trade for a solution at the guard, but this is better IMO.
Now is the time to put up or shut up for Nico Harrison, he got all his men, let's see what they got.

Agree with a fair amount except D Lo. Sometimes you have to mention what wasn't done that should have been, in this case, trade Klay. Two past their prime HOF'ers is enough. Klay should be the odd man out

Rightfully so. But not my personal preference. My preference is still hands off on Lebron. A bought out LBJ essentially is LBJ for free. But I'm on the fence on having that type of distraction around Coop on his first year because they play the samr position. And having Coop come off the bench is essentially wasting year 1. But on the othe side of that coin, you may position yourself to win a chip that way too.
