Re: Schroder's gone
If we do take Monk without immediately rerouting him for a guy that can play PF I’m against this.
There’s no way we can give Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Holland, LeVert, Robinson and Monk enough minutes. The first guy to get squeezed would be Holland, which is ridiculously short-sighted and not something I’d expect from Langdon.
Ron needs 20 minutes, and that’s going to be tough enough to do already. Add Monk and it’s ugly as hell.

Props to him…People hating on his credentials and calling him just a podcaster…I dont listen to him but respect for leaking the dream is still alive.
Nice to know we getting at least SOMETHING for the loss of Schroder…all you Monk haters may need to buckle up (95% of this board).
Can’t tell if the John Collins stuff is wishful thinking on our part or if Utah had actually been leaked as a potential 3rd team.
The truth is, letting him walk for nothing never made a lot of sense. Even if we have to give up a distant future second rounder to make it a sign and trade .... that $14 million trade exception is more likely to be beneficial to us than a distant future 2nd. We very likely could use that trade exception to get an expiring rotation player for a playoff run, and maybe even a pick or two if a team is looking to shed salary to get out from the luxury tax.
I think Sacramento was just trying to strongarm us into giving up assets to get Monk when in reality Monk makes a lot and really if you're going to trade for Monk you have to be ok giving guys like Duren and Ivey $25+ million as starters next summer if you bring Monk of the bench at $20+.
The TPE is obviously more interesting than a distant 2nd. But the question is more, is it worth it if we don't have the room MLE anymore ?
I'm not sure about that honestly.

To Sacto - Schroeder
To GS - monk and a 2nd (from who?)
To Det - Kuminga
The version netting the Kings both Schroeder and Kuminga makes no sense, IMO

At least Kuminga can play meaningful PF minutes.

Malik Monk might be a fine player overall but seems redundant with Ivey here and he's expensive. Not sure I see the point.

Could be an insurance policy incase Ivey gets a massive offer as a RFA in 12 months.

I would sure love to see Keegan Murray on this team.

I would think it would be Monk and Saric to GS. I wouldn’t be thrilled with Kuminga, but it definitely could be worse

If we could get kuminga and schroeder and a pick to sac for us to get murray and monk to GSW that'd be huge.

I'm not sure why people are speculating about us getting Kuminga or Murray somehow being involved.
There's no indication of that.

It's probably because he's a fairly big name and has good scoring numbers but the reality is that he's an inefficient shooter who is a ball stopper and comes with a multi-year contract that damages their flexibility. Just not a fit, already added Levert who is a different type of player but the Pistons already have that inefficient bench scorer don't need two of them.

I haven't heard anyone say Kuminga or Murray except a random person floating the idea. I'm simply adding I'd prefer to get Murray even for draft capital over a free kuminga

Pretty sure I am the only one "clamoring for Monk" (at least on this board...I will gladly die on this hill).
Let Trajan cook, and if he wants to overpay Monk he has a vision and will figure the rest out.

Agree with previous comments. Let Trajan cook at getting us help at the 4 maybe? But adding Monk is just creating a logjam by adding another incomplete player to the roster that doesn't fit well from a usage standpoint. (Neither does LaVert...)
And no. I don't have any expectations of getting a meaningful 4 out of a deal involving a Schroder S&T deal with Sacramento. I think Vivek is stupid but he isn't that dumb right?

Wow, why don't all NBA teams just do that?
Maybe the trade will work out, but there are basic practicalities that all teams must account for.

I say we just go full on Troy Weaver and get 5 centers on our roster and have no spacing at all. We can worry about fit and minutes distribution later.
Is that Troy's burner account or something?

Someone call Trajan and tell him to stop cooking..."HEY TRAJAN, IT'S JULY 3RD AND THE MINUTES HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISTRIBUTED!"

Yep. That's absolutely what folks who don't want Monk are advocating for.
Great job properly representing the opposing argument.

Re: Schroder's gone
This seems more like wishful thinking by the Kings to get the Pistons to take Monk off their hands. The Pistons getting Kuminga or Murray isn't rooted in reality either.
