Those 5 mpg are going to break him?

The moment he passes on a dunk for a kick out pass because he doesn't want to shoot FTs, yes it will

It's basically fanfiction.

OK, Lebron to the Knicks may only be someone's fantasy, but you have to admit that the ghost of Wilt Chamberlain being reanimated so he can play for Brown is legit.

Wingo was writing about Mikan on a rock.

In the 70s he was arguing whether Wilt would be able to post up his high school teammate, Goliath.

If Simmons is willing to come here to play situationally for the minimum I wouldn't mind having him especially if he can still defend multiple positions and facilitate an offense. Those are still issues for the team. The team had more issues on defense than offense last year and they added 2 more guys that graded out as poor defenders last year. At this point i'm not even sure they can put 5 good quality defenders on the court if they wanted to make offense/defense swaps at the end of quarters/late game situations.

We also only have 1 guy on the roster that can guard bigger wings/forwards reliably at the 4 in OG who I still think is better defensively at the 3. If Simmons can at least still do that I would welcome him. He could basically be a more versatile Precious for the vet min imo.

Simmons on the minimum... sure why not?

Get Simmons and McCullar for those last spots.

3-way S&T.... Grimes to NYK at $18m, Hart to a 3rd team, trade exception and multiple sound rounders to Philly...

Who says no?

Apparently the new CBA. it doesn't allow 1st apron teams to acquire a player via S&T, even if sending out matching or greater salary (rule makes no sense IMO). I just learned about this and was bummed b/c Grimes would be a great fit next to Brunson

What's the rule on signing a player and how soon after you can trade him?

The idea makes sense. I have thought about Simmons a few times but, not only the poor shooting as much as his mental issues over the years. Is he really built for the pressure cooker of NYK basketball? On paper he makes sense but, he never seems to make sense on the court.

Eh . We will hear conflicting reports until we get a very clear yes or no where everyone is saying the same thing. I trust windy a whole lot more

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/281228/LeBron-James-Lakers-Began-Moving-Apart-With-Luka-Doncic-Trade

The door is most definitely open for it to happen.

And Lebron is most definitely better than Mikal, Hart and Robinson provided we replace Hart with a guy like Simmons and Robinson with a guy like Richards.

So in other words, Richards, Simmons Lebron is most definitely better than the other guys.

I don’t think he is better than those three.

LeBron retires and that trade looks bad.

I don't see ANY downside to signing Simmons to a vet minimum... he'd be what? A 9th guy off the bench? It's not as though we'd have high expectations.

I thought we couldn’t afford Simmons for the vet minimum due to his years of service which would exceed the cap space limit?
