If Simmons is willing to come here to play situationally for the minimum I wouldn't mind having him especially if he can still defend multiple positions and facilitate an offense. Those are still issues for the team. The team had more issues on defense than offense last year and they added 2 more guys that graded out as poor defenders last year. At this point i'm not even sure they can put 5 good quality defenders on the court if they wanted to make offense/defense swaps at the end of quarters/late game situations.

We also only have 1 guy on the roster that can guard bigger wings/forwards reliably at the 4 in OG who I still think is better defensively at the 3. If Simmons can at least still do that I would welcome him. He could basically be a more versatile Precious for the vet min imo.

The idea makes sense. I have thought about Simmons a few times but, not only the poor shooting as much as his mental issues over the years. Is he really built for the pressure cooker of NYK basketball? On paper he makes sense but, he never seems to make sense on the court.

The door is most definitely open for it to happen.

And Lebron is most definitely better than Mikal, Hart and Robinson provided we replace Hart with a guy like Simmons and Robinson with a guy like Richards.

So in other words, Richards, Simmons Lebron is most definitely better than the other guys.
