This is what the imposter Fischer was reporting on. It is mostly the stuff already announced, just merged into a single deal, (presumably for cap/CBA reasons.)

If we can get Dame, i will do it as the risk is not huge. For the rest, i'm happy for the roster we have right now and can't wait to see how ROB, TSJ, Clark will improve. Last year we lose half season finding chemistry after last minute KAT Trade. This year is way different, youngs will improve, Rudy do not play for national team and hopefully clear his personal issues. I'm confident we will be better than last year and compete.

I think Rudy not doing national team stuff is an underrated part of the offseason this year, same with Ant.

Contender (possibly) - Young core - Getting to play with Ant who is a star on the rise.

Lot's of reasons from a purely BBall perspective. And we all know Dame is a baller first and foremost.
Family First.

I believe his family still lives in Portland, and rumours are going around about it not working and not enjoying Milwaukee the city. It doesn't instil confidence in me that he would join minny for b ball reasons... happy to be proven wrong and he joins but the cities are fairly comparable

He has no reason to come here as 3rd string comboguard, but as 21yo it might be a smart bet to be in top level development program in MIN. His playing style reminds me Nowell a lot

This isn’t quite correct. The Wolves draft night deals were simply trading down the rights to the #31. Yes, #31 went to PHX, who is one of the seven teams in the trade so it could be linked in, but the pick trades didn’t involve salary exchanges, so there would be no reason to include them in a 7-team Durant deal.

The only reason we would be in this deal would be to include the NAW sign-and-trade. Through that deal, we can legally take back up to $7.2 mil because NAW is BYC, but I imagine the number will be less to try to avoid crossing the second apron this early. We could absorb a small deal to get some other team’s contract off the books to make the deal work financially for them.

I don’t know which teams need to shed salary, but I’ll look more closely and ask around.

He'd be high on my list for a dream target right now. However, I think we're going to hold out and wait for Dame and he may sign somewhere else by that time.

Lets compare last year vs this year. Last year:

1) last minute trade brought here Randle and DDV
2) Randle was injured did not practice with team much
3) Rudy and And played in Olympics, spent some time traveling and playing International basketball
4) Conley was bothered by different injuries (wrist)
5) new faces such as TSJ, Clark and Rob had summer full of events
6) no Anderson, Towns, McLaughlin. Not much continuity

This year:

1) both Reid and Randle are re-signed ahead of FA market
2) it looks like all player are healthy
3) TSJ, Clark and Rob have whole offseason to work on their skills
4) can start training camp with continuity

TBF Milwaukee kind of sucks. The TC is a much better living spot.

Is it wise to bring the guy that was charged with shoplifting from Target on numerous occasions, while in the NBA, to play at Target Center?

I don’t know how it’d work out, but I’d be totally down for signing Dame to a guaranteed two or even three year deal starting at the full TP MLE, letting him redshirt this season and having him taking over next season as Conley retires. Houston/OKC are clearly ahead of us, we’d need a risk like this to catch up, even for a year.

That said, my guess is that he’ll have numerous offers and probably would prefer to stay on the West coast.

Why would you let Milwaukee off the hook for part of Dame's contract the next 2 years?

If I'm understanding correctly the team that signs him can do so for the vet minimum with Milwaukee paying him about 50 million each of the next two years. Am I understanding correctly?

Basically. Technically there is a CBA rule called “set off” which means that half of any new salary will be deducted from what the original team has to pay. But Dame got the full buy out amount, and will value his freedom to finally choose his team over making slightly more on a bigger contract. I expect he signs for the vet min, which will let him pick between 29 teams.

I haven't been able to find anything definitive about this, but one article I read said that Milwaukee has to pay 100% of the contract even if he is signed by someone else and the "set off" just affects the salary cap, not the cash paid by Milwaukee to Lillard. Also the calc for the set off is reduced by the NBA minimum salary.
