Fake news! All journalists are liars! The fact that he reported that Thibs was gonna stay after the Boston series and he didn’t is more evidence of dolans meddling and rose didn’t want to fire him.
Seeing how he is basing his opinion on some other guys report.... where's the actual source? A Yahoo sports reporter? Really? That's the source he's using. He says it in the clip. He doesn't say he heard anything from a team source at all. Run with it. Have fun with it. Nothing is verifiable at all.
As likely as it may be that Dolan made the final decision, he has to eat 30 mil. It SHOULD be his decision. Acting like he went rogue and stepped on his GMs balls is purely speculation and until we here that from the team itself, it's nothing more than Knicks drama for clicks.
His literally not basing his reporting on Goodwill’s reporting. He never said that and you’re making that up. Katz just said goodwill story is accurate and it fits with everything that Begley has reported too. So are all 3 of them lying? Where’s your evidence that he didn’t talk with anyone on the team?
He is validating a report and using it to validate his own report that was obviously not as accurate as he wants it to be. Making it look like Rose wanted to keep Thibs but Dolan forced the move. That isn't source reporting. It's speculative and self serving. I don't have to retract my earlier report because blah blah blah.
Anyone think that maybe Dolan was asked to or asked to sit on exit interviews because he has 30 million reasons to be there? That Thibs job was on the line and Dolan wanted to know what the players felt? Like, instead of him being a meddling moron like he was in the past? Maybe he was doing his own research to make that decision. We heard rumblings about Thibs job for over a year now.
I find it hard to believe that reporters know any of this for fact. They hear something and attach their own opinion on it as opposed to what might have actually happened. Once it's reported it takes on a life of its own and people run with it.
It's entirely possible that Dolan said FU to Rose but, I kinda think we need to chill with the narrative as if it's a fact. EVERYONE gets mad that the Knicks/Rose don't talk to the media. Funny how they have accurate inside reporting on how this went down though.
Thinking it's not normal for an owner to sit in on exit interviews is one thing. When a HC is due 30 million and you're thinking about firing him, perhaps that's not a normal situation either. No one wants to take that logic into account? I don't know. Makes some sense to me.
I guess the difference in perspective aligns mostly with if one is ok with Thibs being fired or not. I don't know. It was a $30mil decision. It was made. Hopefully there's not a rift between Rose/Dolan/players. We'll know the truth eventually when people abandon ship. Maybe the decision will lead us to a title. Fun times. People were getting bored with no Knicks drama the last few years. Here we go again.
