I missed that the Celtics signed Josh Minott away from Minnesota. That’s a smart upside player development bet to make during their gap year.

Listening to him actually got me excited for the season. He’s preaching the need for better work habits, team building effort, and overall work ethic. Last season was a reckoning for the team and I think the message was loud & clear. Morey is rebuilding a younger team around Maxey who is now the culture setter in the room. Embiid/PG are welcome to come along for the ride but they’re no longer driving the bus.

This 100%. I love the fact that Morey seems to have admitted without saying it that the George and Embiid signings were mistakes in retrospect, and instead of doubling down and burying this franchise for the next half decade, he is reversing course and looking toward '26-'27 and beyond with the picks and moves he has made. Maxey stepping up as a leader only further amplifies what a brilliant pick he was.

This John Clark guy is the only Philadelphia media person worth a damn when it comes to interviewing players.

I was irrationally obsessed with that guy during his draft year.

Elite level defensive upside.

Johnny goddamn Airport. First to arrive to greet these guys when they sign with Philly.

For such a tall, attractive man, he's super down to earth and cool, too.

Ayton to the Lakers. Now the entire starting 5 doesn’t play defense.

Looking at the two teams in the finals - youth and culture are incredibly important. With Embiid and PG only getting older, it make sense to start putting more emphasis on our second window around Maxey.

That said, I think this strategy has been in play the last two off-seasons. Guys who have become and likely will be a staple on the roster: Jared McCain, Adem Bona, Justin Edwards, VJ Edgecombe, Johnni Broome, and Trendon Watford. In addition to Maxey - that's about half our roster under the age of 24 who are young and hungry.

The only thing we could ask for at this point is bringing back Grimes at a reasonable contract and adding another pure PF (Achiuwa, Boucher, Lyles).

Kings are such a pointless franchise.

Only 1 player on the roster that they drafted averaging more than 10 ppg (Keegan Murray).

Their incompetence can be boiled down to the fact that they drafted DeAaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton, and their just signed point guard is now Dennis Schroder. They were a 3-seed and looked like a franchise on the rise, and are now an utter train wreck only a couple of years later. It would be hard to ruin a franchise that quickly if you tried.
