Miles Bridges + Josh Green + Grant Williams + NSJr a bunch of picks for Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler.
starter: LaMelo ~ Sexton ~ Miller ~ Markkanen ~ Kessler
bench: Mann ~ Kon ~ Okogie ~ Salaun ~ Diabate
depth: Sion ~ Conn ~ McNeeley ~ Kalk
They would still need a backup PF, but the top of the rotation at least looks good.

I’d do that trade right now. Give them a bucket full of first and second rounders. Heck, swap out Collins if they insist on keeping Markkanen, and we will adjust the picks accordingly.
Of course Jeffie won’t do anything like this and Utah wouldn’t either. Still, it would be a “push your chips in” opportunity to load s team and make a run towards playoffs and possible championships while we have young quality players.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
There's no way I'd take Markkanen's contract especially since they would also need to give Kessler a 5/$130 mil type extension. Lauri owed approx $200 mil over the next four seasons and he's not that tier of player. Ainge overpaid for him.
John Collins expiring would work fine since Kessler's extension wouldn't kick in until the '26-27 season.

I like Collins better anyway, especially if we could get both he and Kessler. At least we’d get a trial run of both and see who he want to keep. But with Jeffie I don’t see it happening.

Think Mark Williams, but slower and less offense

He does play defense though. Mark did not. Still not worth more then a couple low quality 1st rounders and salary match type guy.

Kessler is not as good as the idea of Kessler and the idea of Kessler is what the price tag hangs on.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
The price of Kessler (by extension Claxton) explains why the Lakers first overpaid for Mark before settling on a castoff (Ayton).
Now LeBron wants out because his team has no prayer in the West.
I look for him to latch onto the Cavs.

Now that he opted into $52 mil there's not much of a path for the Cavs to acquire him being a 2nd apron team. I suppose the Lakers could just buy him out at the deadline?
Other than that *maybe* the Knicks or Mavs can cobble enough salary to send the Lakers for Lebron? Who knows..

It's LeBron expect some shady business behind the scenes.
If he really wants out they will buy out his contract. They already made it known they are about building around Luka for the future. LeBron being on a expiring contract makes this much easier for the Lakers.
I expect LeBron to be in Cleveland this season.

They can duck the 2nd apron by using the Nets cap space to take the salary dump equivalent Allen into cap plus assets from the 3rd team that gets Allen, with less salary dumped back on Cleveland.
Once under the 2nd apron they can aggregate Garland + Hunter. Lakers would have to surrender 2 unprotected 1sts, swaps + Knecht. Gonna leave Luka on an island but LeBron gets to gut teams he leaves and enrich the teams where he arrives.

Kessler is going to sign for 25-30 million per year on his extension, if you don't want him at that price then no point in paying 2 firsts for him.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
So likely nothing coming before the first of the week IMO. Also believe any significant center trades would be for either Claxton or Allen, with Nic being the more likely of the two. It would cost some of these guards plus picks from war chest, but that’s the price for a starting center of any caliber these days. Hornets didn’t want to continue gambling on Williams, so go pay the piper and get us competitive. The Plumber, a brace but thin Moose and a fine but average rookie ain’t going to get it done.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Wonder is Dallas is still open for business. Derek Lively anyone? Would Miles Bridges be enticing to them?
Bridges and their old #1, for Lively and their Hardaway trade exception?

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
Bridges is viewed as extreme negative contract on the trade board, and LaMelo is viewed as neutral or dump for expiring, so I would stop posting trades for either of them on there.
The Trade and Transactions board has always been horrendously wrong on value, yet none of the top posters over there take accountability for it, particularly the mods. And it's been that way for a long time.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
I think I’d pretty comfortably do any of our players that’s not LaMelo/Miller/Kon (tempted to add Tidjane since he was seen as a long term project, would be interested to know where the FO is on him right now) with a future first (as long as it’s not one of our own) and a second or two for Claxton or Allen. Having a guy like that would greatly help in evaluating the rest of our roster I think.
