I agree with Gambo and Windhorst about Beal. Send him home until he gives his preferred teams.
I don't want his bad habits around our young guys.

He was pretty professional last year and has been supremely professional his whole career. It used to be thought of as vet leadership.
I too thought he was very professional last year. He wants to be in Phoenix for his family.
Ishbia should make him a deal he can't refuse. Have his agent see if he can get the TPMLE and call it good at 98m
We agree he was professional and now we think he should be charitable.... got it!

My thoughts on divvying up minutes if we CAN get CP:
Starters:
PG: Chris Paul = 24 Mins
SG: Jalen Green = 33 Mins
SF: Devin Booker = 35 Mins
PF: Dillon Brooks = 29 Mins
C: Mark Williams = 27 Mins
Bench:
PG: Collin Gillespie = 18 Mins
PG/SG: Bradley Beal = 23 Mins
SF: Rasheer Fleming = 8 Mins
SF/PF: Ryan Dunn = 18 Mins
C: Khaman Muluach = 12 Mins
PF/C: Nick Richards = 13 Mins

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread #4 Free Agency Opens!
Difficult part going into this season is providing playing time to players that could become tradable next trade deadline AND trying to give time to the rookies.
I am excited for the young players we have now. Wish we can just run them out over our vets and tank. But tanking gives us nothing with the draft since we don't have picks and we need to play vets to show some level of conditioning if we are going to trade them mid-season (Royce, Allen, Richards).

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread #4 Free Agency Opens!
I have lost track of how much salary we need to move to get us under the 2nd apron, but I have an idea that might work.
It appears that Beal is absolutely unmovable. Why not just try to move one or both of O'Neale and Allen for just draft picks? We still would be stuck with Beal but should be under the 2nd apron.
I believe we have all season to make these decisions. At the trade deadline we might have more leverage if a contender could use one the three in question for just draft picks and no salary. The same goes for Richards.
Can we waive and stretch Allen and get under the 2nd apron?
Does that work? Who is the best player of the three Beal, O'Neale or Allen?
I do not think Bradley has locker room problems, or does he?
Whatever our decision is we cannot let it stop the potential growth of this team. I like the potential of this group with or without Beal, CP3, Richards, O'Neale and Allen.

He was our best guard defender. What were his bad habits?

We should send Grayson Allen and Royce O'neale home for sure then too.

I am not sure the markets for Allen and O'Neale are very good. Detroit was the best option but they picked Duncan Robinson. My hope for Royce and Allen were being traded for a bit less money but more importantly, expirings in 2027 to go along with Beal - when they could really have some cap space
As for W/S Allen - just more debt for the future. I think just run it out. He is owed $55m (probably why the Pistons picked Duncan) - so over that would be like 55/7 or another $8m per year. At some point, Ishbia needs to take his medicine. And the thing is, with Martin, Micic and Richards - he had 22m - right there. Easy. Just so easy

Can the Suns take Jrue instead of Grant?

I think you forgot Hayes - Davis in your rotations. If he can play, he actually makes Allen and O'Neale more of a roster problem.

You're right, I did forget them, that is my mistake. That just complicates it even more with giving run time to the rooks. If there is a way to get some of our picks back, then we go full tank mode, but until then, we have to play our vets to make them tradable.

Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

For as much work as they’ve put into this roster they have a lot of work to do. Green/Booker PG combo off the back of Beal/Booker PG seasons is ridiculous.

Less iso, more up tempo and movment along with athletic bigs and defenders injected into the equation.....this is better.

Blonde wrote:1. Stretching Beal makes no competitive sense - we’re not winning within the next two years. Bad contracts are much better than that much dead money for 5 seasons. In one year he’ll be on an expiring contract and much more moveable if necessary. Bucks only did it with Lillard because Giannis was threatening to leave and they had Turner lined up to sign with the open space.
2. I would love CP3 back (as a backup only). Who better to help the young bigs learn how to screen, roll, catch lobs, etc. To me it’s a no brainer if he accepts the role. If he needs to start, I’ll pass. His slow play style is not what I want with this younger group.
Yall anti stretchers make it out to be the end of the world. It’s no worse than one bad contract (hi Grayson) or an injured player. Besides, the benefit is getting under the second apron. Very hard to rebuild/retool when you can’t group players or add cash in trades. It messes with your picks too and you lose any TPE… which we might get with a Richards (5mil) for picks trade. It’s not all about cap space yet that’s the focus of contention. News flash… We have no cap space now nor next yr if we stay tied to Beal.
This does even consider the direct cash savings for MadMatt
I won’t be surprised if he is stretched and I sure won’t be claiming the sky is falling if so. So much good has to happen for this team to be worth a shttt in 3-4 yrs anyways.
That’s said, we are on the hook with him till some team bites. We have till dec/jan for this to shake out…. Mean time, Beal can stay home and enjoy that family time.
What ? Me Worry ?

Minus Kevin Durant(which makes 10-15 more wins). And last season we went 36-46. So next season at most 26-56.

You mean besides not being able to stay on the court, putting in below average effort and laughing when an opposing team drills a three in his face?
You would think that after last season people would notice that Beal doesn't care too much about helping this team improve.
I know Beal is a career loser but his contract is about to expire and much like Ayton I would imagine he wants to keep getting paid.
