Re: Official Brandon Ingram Thread
One thing I keep thinking about is the supports of Raptors vs Pelicans.
Thinking about Dejounte Murray interview, organization sounds like a mess.
Back to BI, he probably has never trained or prepared for a season like he is now. He’s been training since the trade. Getting his body stronger could be huge for him.
I could be wrong, regardless I’m really excited for this season and BI in particular.

Right, and he's not been doing anything serious since the season ended because he's being held out for tanking right? Stop making **** up.

Props TZ!

It made me take notice for sure.
I rememeber years ago thinking "this scrawny Ingram kid has no chance. Too weak. Too frail".
He proved me wrong & earned a ton of respect.
Probably one of the few times I've seen OG get cooked 1 on 1. He was just rising up over him and scoring over full contests.

Do you know that he hasn't been doing anything serious, or are just inferring from the lack of coverage about his offseason activities?

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

it matters if he's trending to be available at training camp. Sort of a base level 'doing their job' sort of reporting.

There is zero reason for them to not show him working out from a PR perspective, they were publicly stating during the season that he wasn't walking on it, never performed any contact practices or drills etc. , so no he couldn't have come back in feb.

Props TZ!

So "nothing," was the answer. You have nothing but inference.
It's possible you're right, but it's possible that they just haven't bothered because it's the offseason and they have until the preseason at least before it actually matters. Or training camp, I guess, but still.
This isn't something we should spin up over at this time, it's just needless negativity without substance.

Re: Official Brandon Ingram Thread
Why do people feel entitled to have videos posted of BI working out lmao. Y’all are so weird. I get the worry about his health but Raptors don’t post anyone else working out. Most of our players either don’t post their workouts at all or only post videos their trainer took, if that. BI doesn’t use social media much so he definitely won’t post. And media doesn’t talk to the players in the offseason other than in summer league. And they would only talk to coaching staff and the players playing in summer league. So unless a media member asks Darko about BI in summer league we probably won’t know anything until training camp. And that isn’t anything different from most players. You wouldn’t hear a peep from Kyle back in the day or see Kyle at all in the off season. A lot of guys are like that. I’m not saying he’s for sure good to go or is for sure cleared for contact or whatever, but I’m saying the entitlement y’all have is very strange. Just because he’s injury prone does not mean you are entitled to have videos posted of him online working out. That is no one but the coaching staff, front office and BI’s business until the season starts. Would it be nice? Of course. Are we owed that or entitled to that? No.

Re: Official Brandon Ingram Thread
This is just another example of people worrying about things before it even happens just so they can complain about something new lol. Always have to think the worst. Let’s be positive for once. The man will have a lot of time to get right. More time than he’s ever had after an injury. Him coming to camp healthy is much more likely than not. And if for some reason he still isn’t healthy come training camp THEN we can start to worry and complain lol. Relax, it’s the offseason, damn lol

He didn't play for last 4 months of the season due to an ankle aprain. We haven't received any legitimate assurance that he's 100% healthy and ready to go for next season. Its been 2.5 months since end of season.
Are we legally obligated to receive corroborated evidence of his health status as fans? No. But it would be nice to treat the fans like we're a vested interest instead of a bank machine. Hopefully new leadership takes a new approach.

Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

So why aren’t you demanding this from Gradey who was injured to end the season and we didn’t get any updates on? From Jakob who was injured to close last season and we got no updates? We only knew Scottie was okay after last season bc he posts his workouts on social media. If he didn’t the organization wouldn’t have said anything about him either. You and others are just being picky with BI because he’s injury prone. But that doesn’t mean the organization has to put out some statement about BI randomly in the offseason just to appease you lol. That doesn’t mean they’re treating fans like a bank machine, even though let’s be real, that’s what we are to them for the most part lol. Y’all are doing way too much

This.
Any video, even the one we saw, is gonna be met with "haha, offseason nonsense." Only due to his history is anyone at all concerned by the silence. And like you said, we haven't heard much at all about our other injured guys.
We need to at least pretend like we want to be excited for a little while, man. We're not even halfway into the offseason and people are already crying out that the sky is falling.

That’s what I’m saying. We will have all season to complain. Complaining about something that could but hasn’t even happened yet is crazy to me lol. People on here are so negative they complain in advance lol. I hope these people don’t live their actual lives like this and this is only a performance they put on for realgm. And you made a great point, most people on here laugh off any off season videos that are posted because “it doesn’t matter unless they prove it in the season”. So it’s funny that now they feel entitled to one of those same videos just because BI is injury prone and they want proof he’s not just sitting on his ass at home injured LMAO. People on here make my head spin man, forever stay contradicting themselves and moving goal posts just so they can hate and complain

Yeah.
I dunno. I've often been as guilty as anyone of negativity at times. I certainly didn't meet the drafting of CMB with a broad grin and a musical number. But at some point, particularly in the offseason, you have to just TRY to be enthusiastic and optimistic a little bit. It can't be all gloom and doom, or you're just poisoning yourself emotionally. The season is a long grind; there will be plenty of time to be pessimistic later.
BI is fine until we find out he's not. CMB is an interesting prospect, and we're gonna start the "we need to give him at least his rookie contract" chants early just so we don't get too sad if he starts slow. But he'll also have the opportunity to play limited minutes, won't be asked to float the whole team right away and seems like he has some useful tools and skills anyhow, so we'll see. We got ourselves an interesting reserve C. There are things to be happy about. BI is one of them, until and unless we find out a reason for it to be otherwise, you know?

No Hali next year for the Pacers, and they just let Turner walk with nothing in return, that 2026 draft pick we traded for BI is starting to look more and more enticing. This may not end well

you have to understand, that if raps didn't trade that 2026 pick, then pacers have zero incentive to tank next year

You still have to be efficient. Their discussion centered around the ability to get shots under clock pressure and the like. The best scorers in the league have always been better than their peers in terms of efficiency. Shai, their focus, does a lot of things besides just the mid-range. It's an important counter, it remains relevant in today's game... perhaps even more so when you consider the emphasis on running guys off the 3pt line and walling off the paint.
Lebron was certainly right that there is only so much you can emphasize 3pt volume. We've seen it be problematic for Boston at times because their main scorer can't really get it done unless his 3ball is falling like a lot of contemporary scorers. You need counters unless all you're after is seasonal average efficiency.
But if you're hoping for high-octane offense, you can't really have your focal scorer be a pure-midrange guy rocking league-average efficiency unless he's also a fairly significant playmaker. Something to ponder. There are degree of relevance to stuff like this.
I mean I guess you could also look it from a standpoint of "someone has to shoot some mid rangers", and for us that is gonna be a lot of Ingram.
Hopefully we don't spam bad mid range looks early in the clock, but if Ingram is our bail out option he is better at that than most of the NBA.
