I was worried he maybe did not have a good head on his shoulders, was not a gym rat or hard working, or perhaps concern of low IQ, and that’s why he dropped despite early hype. My thought was that yeams simply got scared off during workouts and interviews. Turns out he is talented and has the mentality and work ethic that will likely make him earn trust quick in the locker room …

How did such a perfect fit at a point of need drop to us!?!?

He dropped because of his turnovers. Apparently very high turnover rate. And also his numbers took a dive as season went on.

Some people said its cuz he got hurt and he tried to play hurt and he didnt play for a very good team which hurt his assist and turnover numbers. Others said he was very good and shouldnt have fallen this far. We shall find out!

I don’t think Highsmith is a good enough sweetener for them to empty their last asset. I think it makes more sense for them to keep Knecht and let go of the pick.

Been trying to tell you all for years. Pat Riley is a face figure, advisor and a spokes person for the Heat. He is not THE decision maker anymore. Pat current role is to go out in the public and take the "heat" good or bad. Go out to events and give speeches, press conferences and give some wise advise and guidance. Riley struture the organization and culture so it could function at a high level beyond him for a long period of time. And really that is the responsibility of his job title. He done it so well that it runs itself as a top five franchise probably SINCE the big 3 got together. At that point you will hear stories from Wade and Bosh, that many times Pat stated that Bosh and Wade had to speak to the Arisons. And most recently you heard it from Butler, he too was referred to speak to the Arisons. Instead of retiring which I believed the plan was for 2015 to 17, somewhere around that time. That the Arisons came to an agreement to keep him on as a public face figure, and advisor, a symbol of identity for the Heat.

I think I would rather take the pick swap over Knecht in my opinion, as I believe teams in the league will view it more favorably than Knecht in future trades we could do. This assumes the pick swap will occur in 2030 or 2032.
