In 2011, under Phil Jackson, the Lakers went 57-25 (.695 win%) and made the 2nd round, getting swept by the Mavericks

In 2012, under Mike Brown, the Lakers went 41-25 (.621 win%) and made the 2nd round, losing in 5 to the Thunder

I mean, same team, one year older, virtually identical outcome. I would say I don't see why it's being used as a negative, but if someone were just trying to troll, I could understand it.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

So we fired Thibs but we’re keeping his staff. We’re cooked fam.
What's cooked about it?

If one of the issues with Thibs is that he didn't utilize the talented staff that was assembled for him, why would the FO throw out the staff when the more collaborative coach comes on?

Wasn’t that staff hand picked by Thibs?

No, not all of them. Brunson and Dice are his constants. Everyone else came with at least some input from the FO.

Most of them are developmental coaches. Brown might bring in more, but will likely bring in his own x and o people.

Thanks for the clarification!

I guess we’ll see if those guys are any good since Thibs didn’t use them lol

There's always that one person at the bar or club who always seems to get into with everyone about pretty much nothing of substance. Every group this person mixes in with winds up having words with them, even the doorman or bartender can't escape their bickering. Then claim it's everyone else who's the problem.

I hope Mike Brown isn't like that, Knicks fans need him to have a spirit of cooperation if they are to get to the next level.

in improv class this is known as a callback. -JVG

That's the thing with Thibs though. He maximizes marginal try-hard talent around a heliocentric player.

I'm not sure Brown's the guy but Thibs does struggle once he's managing egos and defining clear roles for greater talent. I'm most interested in what happens with Bridges.

Low key feel like bridges might not even be here to start the season since he didn’t sign an extension.

This wasn't even close to the context of the discussion. You MFers just love to lie and twist words and cherry pick to come at people. You're not even CLOSE to what started the discussion what went on during the discussion.

The trolling was ridiculous the BS posts about it are just as bad.

so, everybody got good plans for the holiday weekend? -JVG

It does seem like they're looking at deals for at least one of the lesser Villanova Connection players. His fit here was disappointing last year and our best lineups have Deuce.

If Mikal is still here and struggling I wonder if Brown will be open to benching him for Deuce.
