I'll be real here, I'm not old enough to judge Bird or anything. My fav player is Paul Pierce. But after him, I know many people will be outraged, some say Smart(which is bizzaro bull, guy would've never had anywhere near the caeer he had unless the C's were initally tanking) is Brown. Taking all the challenges, offense, defense, if you want Brown, you better step up. He carried us past a very, very good Pacers team, which in the same formation took a legendary OKC team to 7 with Hali tearing his achilles, although he missed games against us, he played over 30 mins in game 2 and we blew them out. If you want Brown, you better give us some assets.... Bane is not better by a long shot.
Good assessment:

Apparently MIL 27 isn’t really tradeable, so switch it to 2031 1st from them, 2031 2nd from BOS in the Kuz deal.

Not even close. I am on here and followed the NBA ever since I could, and I am not lying; I had no clue who Bane was until the trade.

I would do Simons for Valanciunas in a heartbeat and guarantee Jonas' 2nd year if that's what it took to get him to stay. This smells to me like a veteran player and his agent trying to leverage an extension. Athens is a nice city and all, but he isn't going to leave millions on the table to go play for Panathinaikos.

My other thought is that Jonas will need to get minutes if he wants another decent contract. He won't get many minutes in Denver because the Joker will soak them up.

What would be hilarious is we get Mann back from BKN after paying them 22 to take him and duck the tax in the process.

BOS: Mann for Simons, Niang, Tillman
MIL: Simons, Tillman for Kuzma, 2026 and 2028 1st round pick swap rights (after the existing swaps)
BKN: Kuzma, Niang, 2026 & 2028 swap rights for Mann.

BOS might actually need to kick in a 2nd or two as well which wouldn't be as hilarious.

Then flip Mann for Vandy and Milton, lol.

OK, I'm stepping away from the trade machine and heading outside. 8-)

Simons, X and a 26 2nd for Kuzma and their 27 first.

Sounds horrible at first. And second. And third. But about the 8th, 9th time, it starts sounding less bad.
Saves $7M, gets you within Hauser/Niang trade and/or Kuz flip of the tax.
Gets you that 1st round pick, and we have three 26 seconds right now.
2nd year of Kuz is tradeable expiring salary ballast next summer.

And, biggest reason of all - maybe people won't realize it's not Tatum this year since they're basically the same player.

I want Landale. With more playing time he can be a lot more than shown with Rockets IMO.

wouldn't be shocked if we sign Beal for the minimum after he gets bought out by PHX. Tatum gets to play with his buddy, maybe Lillard joins too and we get Beal as a guy who hopefully will finally give a **** again & be able to score off the bench next season.

Agree.

Was about to post about Beal.

But would Beal want to come to Boston for the minimum?

Guess we'll find out soon.

There is really no reason not to come back to Boston. This is crazy.

Brad said he wants him. Wth.

GS is not a Title contender. So that reasoning does not fly with me.

The chance of Tatum returning in the weak EC makes us a way more reasonable contender than GS in the stacked WC.
