With a .539 TS% on a 17-win team.

When you’re playing on a team that’s tanking and they let you have a 24 USG%, it’s actually really easy to put up what appear to be decent counting stats that don’t mean literally anything.

still a 21 yr old player. i dont view him as awful. apparently you do

I just think it’s very easy to get lost in raw stats.

Every NBA teams scores somewhere between 105-120 points a game. The production has to come from somewhere, ya know?

You could basically take any NBA guard and give them enough usage and enough shots to where their raw numbers would look decent, but their efficiency would be awful and their team’s performance would be even worse.

Jett not playing is a sign he’s dead in the water ifgaf if he’s a 3rd year player. He should at least want to play to maybe show another team something or even the Magic something.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Black has been in the rotation for 2 years. Players like that don't play in the summer league.

Jett has barely played any meaningful minutes.

Given where Jett is developmentally I’m surprised he isn’t playing in summer league.

Jett stated during his exit interview he learns and improves playing 5 on 5. He mentioned individual workouts in the gym doesn’t work for him.

Chicago would do this trade because Jonathan Isaac is a great defender and Jett Howard is a 3pt specialist

Does Ethan Thompson already have a 2025/26 two-way contract with Orlando beyond the two rookies?

He might be the only player on the roster competing for a full-time job.

I think what we might get is Black and Jett practicing with the guys in Vegas.

I agree though, Jett should be on this roster. He need the reps. Hopefully this means he’s getting salary dumped.

I think Jett was pretty good in summer league and even preseason last year. Probably not much to learn for him in low stakes environments against bad competition. Was also good in the G league, he can perform against scrubs.

The 5v5 thing makes sense to me, he just looks so sped up to me when he plays. He is a guy that really needs the game to slow down for him and I just don't think he will ever get the necessary minutes for that here. I think it is likely he isn't an NBA player regardless, but would like for him to get a chance at regular minutes on a bad team.

He does. Ethan Thompson signed a two-year two-way contract last season.

But the Magic can also release him from that two-way at any time.

It's not in the least surprising, in historical context, that Jett isn't playing in his 3rd NBA season (despite all of the disclaimers about his experience so far). Having said that, he was dominant in the G League...let him play and build his value for a quick trade for a srp or two. Too late to pay Moe, but every dollar counts.

I would prefer if someone locks him in a gym and he trains 3s everyday instead of FiBA play.

It's not really about volume of 3 shots he should be taking, it's broken a** form that needs to go back to 2022 forum.

Shooting million shots with that "jips" form won't fix it.

He got so much into his head in playoffs that he started doing his Fultz-move in playoffs, as soon as he got ball he started dribbling to avoid even option of catch and shoot. Even shots he took for 3 felt like him forcing himself into taking it.
