If Dame decides tomorrow, it could be the perfect mirror image of the Hayward letter / 4th of July Declaration of Playing for the Cs.
I doubt Dame writes a dang thing, and he's injured BEFORE we sign him.

As for Dame, that was my favorite player for a looong time, modeled my game after him a lot, I would be ecstatic to have him. However his achilles will be, he can still spot up and nail 3 pointers after rehabbing. For a minimum, why not?

JB is set up to have the best season of his career. He's been waiting for a chance to be a #1. It's here.

It's gonna be a very fun season. I think a lot of people will be surprised by how far this team will go. Me personally I think a finals run completely possible. Just need a better bigman rotation

Finals run is a lofty goal considering this teams roster and how pathetically bad their bigs are.

I think this team will be a play in team.

To keep this on topic. Dame will end up in Miami or the Lakers.

Why would dame care what the centers look like next year? Lolz

It comes down to opportunity. I am sure him and Tatum been talking. He is 34, so it isn't like he wants to go to south beach to go clubbing. He rich enough he can live anywhere.

It comes down to basketball opportunity. Where else has a place that can essentially ready the roster for his return in 2026-27. Every other team wants to win now. Celtics? They got an opening at PG for 2026-27 and don't plan on filling it until then.

The heat stuff is hilarious. He wanted to play with Jimmy Butler.

NBA is weird. Baseball, football, hockey, Miami isn't any more popular than other places.

The only chance the Lillard would have even minor interest in Boston would be if the Celtics committed to relocating the franchise to a warm climate. Not happening

He spent his career in Portland and Milwaukee. lol. Where do you guys get this view?

NFL players go play for the Patriots and Bills, and those games are outdoors.

You can find a woman in a thong anywhere and he is 35 with children. Show the man some respect.

Imagine not wanting to sign Dame on the cheap and but wanting to keep Softzingis on a $30M contract who is one of the most injury/sick prone player in NBA history. Yes, there are Celtics fans who think like that

Shoot Walsh and Tillman to the moon and make it DAME TIME. The Tatum/Brown duo aren't good enough to win a ring, they need a elite supporting cast (White, Jrue, Al in '24). Add a legit big plus White and Dame and know you have a shot especially if Dame can be the designated closer.

We sing Dame we just have to make sure our two ways are set up right. That's two rosters spot that are spent. So, 13 active players.

That won't be our big depth to start the season.

Dame is an Oakland guy. His family is still out West and he HATED being away from them in Milwaukee. So he's gonna choose Boston now?? If you're Dame, Boston couldn't makes LESS sense as a destination if we tried. If Dame is smart, he'll join the 35 and over crowd in Golden State.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

He can, but whatever money he's paid by his new team will be discounted from the money the Bucks will pay him. So he can sign for the minimum.

No, he still gets paid by the Bucks on the regular schedule. The Bucks get to stretch out the payments for league accounting purposes. But yeah, the NBAPA has perhaps the best labor contract of anyone anywhere on the planet.

I mean, do you really doubt Himmelsbach? The guy is nails when it comes to the Celtics.

Also Dame would probably be Steph's backup so idk if he'd want that. I do think we're not at the top of his list or anything, but I do think he'll hear us out.

I think Dame probably wants to be in Portland again to see his kids, but not sure if the Blazers want him at this point

Boston makes sense. So do other places. Depends on what he wants from his career

If White slides to the 1 for 26/27 the SG position is wide open for Lillard.

That may be enticing to him.

Would be nice to have even so.

It's hard to think of a better backup for Pritchard than even an old Lillard.

I think people are operating from different assumptions about the numbers. In particular, I think one recent article simply got them wrong. So let's work through this.

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/player/_/id/10814/damian-lillard

-- Lillard was waived with 2 years left on a huge deal.
-- For the next 2 years, then, the Bucks will pay him huge amounts of money.
-- The fact that the Bucks are stretching that for cap purposes over 5 years does not affect Lillard's life or contract situations in any way.
-- Once he clears waivers, he will be free to sign with any other team under normal FA provisions. (Are there any exceptions to that, especially exceptis that matter?)

Here's the big question:

Does any salary Lillard makes over the next two seasons get offset by a reduction in what the Bucks pay him??

If it does, then his new salary will be pretty irrelevant to him (for 2 years only). If it doesn't, then he might or might not actually care about the dollar amounts.
