It's an 82 game season, he's already familiar with JJ's system, it's a min contract. Don't see the issue. He's serviceable at that price.

Luka Doncic / Gabe Vincent / Jordan Goodwin*
Austin Reaves / Shake Milton* / Bronny James
LeBron James / Dalton Knecht / Adou Thiero*
Rui Hachimura / Jake LaRavia / Jarred Vanderbilt
DeAndre Ayton / Jaxson Hayes / Maxi Kleber

*Jordan Goodwin is mostly unguaranteed. Shake Milton is completely unguaranteed. Adou Thiero was selected in the beginning of the second round and has yet to formally sign a contract. The Lakers also have the restricted free agency rights to Christian Koloko.

As I look at the lineup I posted above, I wonder if Bradley Beal would want to take the spot of Shake Milton in this lineup. He would play against backups unless there was an injury and could sign in LA for the minimum after being bought out.

They have Kleber now.

The fact that JJ played Kleber who hasn’t touched a basketball in 6 months in a elimination game over Hayes says a lot.

Kleber

The guy is beyond washed. And as a former Mavs fan I liked him when he could still play at an NBA level

Ayton has warts but is light years ahead if you're seriously talking about Kleber

I was talking about Hayes not Ayton.

And yeah, Kleber is washed, and is still more playable than Hayes.

They have plenty of showers - there is room for more than one to be washed. They can have a completely clean team.

Will it be enough to wash Hayes’s bloody hands after he beat up that woman?

Meh. He's good defensively as a rim protector and very athletic to take advance of lob chances. There's not too much to his game outside of that. I guess if you want to look on the positive then Ayton/Hayes might be the most athletic big man pairing in the NBA or close to it.

The rebounding is so poor though. Could do worse as as signing but could do better if Horford was still on the table.

What happened to Koloko? He’s way better than this bum and is actually a high character guy

Is that what the main knock on him was? I didn't see the Lakers in the play-offs, but he looked good late in the regular season when they made the run. I couldn't see how he fell so far.

It’s a de facto no-trade clause cause they only signed him to a one year deal after having him for two years.

Yeah, pretty much. Against a C with some strength who can box out he's going to struggle.

The rebounding is just not there and not a great finisher outside of lobs. He has bad positioning, bad strength and timing for boards. I hope he's in the weight room. For a vet min you accept a player is going to have weaknesses so I guess it is what it is.

Playing with LeBron & Luka makes him look better than he is & gives him the best chance to extend his career.

Re-signs, not resigns.

Sorry, I had to point that out.

He’s actually fine as a backup. Problem was that he was our starter.
