So far the Laker's off seaosn moves are:

Lost DFS
Added Ayton, Laravia
Kept Hayes

They're better, if not only just because they have a playable center now for the playoffs but not by much. I can't imagine them going past the second round. They have no POA defender they can keep on the court since Vando and Gabe are worthless on offense, their rim protection is still pathetic and Ayton hardly helps with that, Luka and Reaves can be targetted on defense no matter how much weight Luka loses and they're going to still be relying on a 41 year old to be their second best player. That's just not a recipe for a championship level team no matter what stats Lebron puts up in the regular season to delude the media that the Lakers are contenders.

Why would he sign for a minimum after a buy out?
I think you're confusing it with a waived player, where whatever he signs for with the new team is substracted from what the old team pays, so a player doesn't care about the new salary (unless suddenly it's bigger than the old one, but it's probably super rare and I doubt would ever happen).
After a buyout, if Beal signs with a new team, his new salary doesn't affect the amount he gets from Suns, so strictly from the financial point of view no reason for Beal not to seek some MLE money out there

I think you will be very surprised how much losing a lot of weight will do for Luka's & the Lakers' defense.

Also, Kleber just needs to avoid the injury bug & he can be in the center rotation.

I think the Lakers are trying to copy the Pacers on their run to the Finals, as far as what kind of team they want to be next season, which means Reaves needs to go to the bench.

Here are Jaxson Hayes' stats last March:

23 mpg, 10 ppg, 6 rpg, 80% fgs in 13 games

Would have been crazy not to re-sign him!!!

It's also crazy to say the Lakers are not championship contenders next season. Luka had a very bad season, by his standards, due to all the upheaval. If Luka is the player he has usually been 90% of his career, his team will always be a championship contender.

Thiero & LaRavia makes the Lakers substantially more athletic.

Luka was already looking bad compared to the athletes on the Lakers last season, so I expect he will come into next season very slim to spare himself even further embarrassment.

Sorry but until I see Luka start playing defense at a level where he's not constantly being targeted, I won't consider this Laker team a championship level team. Your still relying on a 41 year old to play heavy minutes and be the second best player on the court and I don't see how that's going to work in an 82 game season followed by a almost every other day playoff run. Your going to need more then Ayton, who we're not even sure even likes basketball, and LaRavia to go from a 1st round exit to a championship in such a loaded conference.

From what I saw last season, Koloko wasn't even better than Jemeson  let alone Hayes

Agree.
Koloko would ride the bench in Euroleague as well. Zero talent, bad hands.

And Jameson actually showed signs of someone who should stick in the league, even if as a bench player for the minimum. You could do much worse with a 3rd stringer.

If they really could get Beal in a buyout, they'd keep trading Reaves for wing players. Reaves+Knecht for Adams+Eason+Pick?
