Re: Kuminga sign and trade Bulls interest
I'm not interested in Kuminga.
I used to be, but getting him via a S&T is pretty low on my list.
If the Bulls had drafted Jakucionis instead of Essengue, I'd be more interested, but I'd rather Essengue get minutes and develop.

I give it approximately 0% odds that Kuminga signs for as little as 4/72.

I wouldn't give up a first round pick to get Kuminga. I might change my mind if it's the Portland pick, but I'd probably still say no.

Not saying I endorse the trade in any sense, but Kuminga is looking to get paid, not just above the MLE.

Re: Kuminga sign and trade Bulls interest
In a way Kuminga is even more screwed than Giddey. Giddey can take the QO and know he's the guy, and will get a chance to show out and get paid next summer. If Kuminga gets a QO from GS and takes it, he's probably going to get limited opportunities to make his sales pitch.

God bless their hearts. What a terrible franchise, if true.

I hope they do it. I just don’t see it with Kuminga fits the type of money he wants. We don’t need another long bad contract.

How does the type of money he wants matter if he has no avenue to receive it?

I'm not high on him. He can't shoot 3s and is as weak as a rebounder as PWill.
He however knows how to score and therefore, you're right, someone will pay more than 4/72.

It wouldn't surprise me if the amount more than that is pretty low, but I'd guess that he does get more, but I could easily see him around 4/80, 4/90.
The problem is:
1: A team has to agree to trade for him to pay him
2: That team has to be able to get around the BYC restrictions (will require a 3rd team to take a salary)
3: That team has to offer GS contracts that they actually want because they're close to the tax and are trying to win
That means the team waning him has to:
1: Agree to his contract demands
2: Give GS only things it wants that are more valuable than using its own MLE
3: Compensate another team for taking on the salary that GS can't to get around BYC
4: That team actually has to have the contracts that line up to do all this matching in the types of players that fit the above scenarios
It's not impossible, especially now that the MLE can be used to take in players on trade, but it means Kuminga would need a team that really, really likes him to get him paid.

I'm really hoping we don't add Kuminga. Talk about overloading on mediocrity.

Re: Kuminga sign and trade Bulls interest
Since Kuminga is still young, some team might pay for the potential of a 22 year old scorer.
If he (like reported) is averse to learn from on of the leagues best coach, then he is what he is and then my comparison would be Bobby Portis he just signed a 3 year 44 mio extension.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Kuminga: I want to get paid like a core guy and be somewhere where I can get more run as a core guy.
GSW: Can't, we have Steph.
Kuminga: Then I want to go elsewhere.
GSW: OK, hey Sacramento, here he is to slot behind Zach/DeMar/Sabonis.
Sac:

I'm sure GSW was pissed when they couldn't send him to Bulls for Vuc and an FRP. Then remembered the only dumber FO in the league.

This does not make me sad. I think he could be good, but paying a lot for a guy with his limitations would probably not work out for us. I guess if there is someone for him to learn from it's Demar.

The Golden State Warriors, according to league sources, have been searching for a promising young player plus a first-round pick in return for Kuminga, should they ultimately choose to part with him in a sign-and-trade scenario.
The Washington Wizards entered the mix in the last 24 hours and the idea of Kuminga as a possible fit in Washington’s rebuild has gained real momentum, according to league sources. The Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets have also registered varying levels of interest, league sources said.

Re: Kuminga sign and trade Bulls interest
Honestly, when Bulls drafted Noa, this Kuminga thread should've been closed.
It wouldn't make any sense whatsoever adding him to a Matas/Noa/Phillips/Patrick/Terry/Ayo front-court rotation. Patrick's untradeable thus locked into the bench rotation, Terry should be cut but will probably be resigned for 5Y as the permanent 13th man, Noa will have to pray to the gods for a minute, and Ayo is getting first dibs on SF/PF minutes as soon he's back on the floor... regardless how small he is.
This on top of Giddey probably playing a bulk of his minutes at "SF"... and Jalen Smith perhaps not even having a hope of playing.
Edit: I forgot about Okoro. Lol.

Philips, Patrick, Terry, suck. Ayo is a guard. Noa hasn't played a game. Matas made 2nd team all rookie. Giddey is a point guard. Smith sucks too.
People on this board talk about the Bulls like they are loaded. They are a perpetual 38 win team. Kuminga is literally better than everyone on this list except Giddey. Isn't the goal to acquire good players? Terry, Patrick and Phillips have had years of development. Time to upgrade the roster.
