We were close to getting our Ayton Knick jersey.
I wanted to trade KP for a pick in 2017 and then in 2018. After we missed the opportunity for Tatum, I was intrigued with an idea of using two picks in 2018 for Ayton and Doncic under an extremely lucky scenario in the lottery. Now the Lakers get that pairing lol.
Character issues of Ayton however a major concern. He was at his best in their Finals run in 2021 where he was able to neutralize Jokic in the series. Too bad it went downhill from there with Monty.
Lakers always get everyone. It makes no sense

If the lakers can get the 2021 version of Ayton then they are probably winning the chip. He was a 2 way demon in that finals run.

What are people thinking about the Ben Simmons rumors? Solid defender and pg but spacing nightmare.

I'm disappointed that Rose didn't weasel his way in to trade rights on players that will never play in the NBA just to make it an 8 team trade but at least the Knicks got their name in it.

Funny how Riley is simultaneously one of the few GMs that won't let the Lakers bend him over and absolutely deluded to the value of his players.

Lakers and Heat are the two juggernauts of over valuing their players

Ayton doesn't answer the other problems on the team. If they get Wiggins, they they will start to look like something but it's just annoying how Blazers just waived a guy making real money basically in his prime and with actual talent so he could gift the Lakers free talent AGAIN. Just going to wait for Beal to get cut and also get his Lakers jersey. Maybe Celtics will cut Brown so he too can join the Lakers.
Meanwhile... we got 33 year old Clarkson .... fantastic

Higher pay rate and instead of being an end of bench 10 minute scrub he would basically be the Jokic of his team (rather than being the actual back up to Jokic).
Makes complete sense.

Not about him specifically but why do you guys act like 33 year old players suddenly can’t play basketball anymore

They usually have at least a couple more solid years in the tank unless injuries happen
When the 2011 mavericks won the championship Jason Kidd was 37 Jason Terry was 33 Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion were 32 and they were all playing big minutes
There’s no reason a 33y/o can’t contribute off our bench based off age alone
He’s not a long term piece he’s a bench stop gap guy on a cheap contract
Bahamas Kanter was never good don’t let melo fool you
