[Stein and Fischer] The Suns and Heat had exploratory dialogue this week on a potential Bradley Beal trade, league sources say, but the talks ultimately collapsed.

Can anyone explain to me why ANYONE would waste their time with Riley?

He and Masai are frauds

Riley would have wanted five FRPs

It’s what I see happening unless they can unload Grayson and Royce

But if they do that - would mean $19m for three years right so just one less year of stretching. 1 + 3 instead of 5
At that point - just let it go after 2027 and be done with it

That scenario would just be showing they're desperate to get him off the roster. At least a buyout plus stretch now would offer significant, instant savings (tho there are other consequences). Waiving now and stretching later is just kicking him to the curb because apparently they hate him

If the Suns find a way to stretch and waive Beal, the Suns are holding up a white flag for the next 5 years. Suns willl legitimately not be in contention for anything except praying they don’t give another team the #1 pick. I’m praying Beal saves the Suns from themselves.

If they buy out Beal, it better just be this year and next. Stretch and waive is beyond pointless. As some have already explained, you are just kicking the can down the road restricting you even further. This team isn’t going to be good for a long time due to the choices made.

I just think with how the West is: Houston, OKC and Denver right there at the top... it would be foolish to think you can compete with those teams. That is not giving up - that is just being realistic.

So it actually gives an "out" of pressing pause to rebuild properly. I mean, they extended Booker - it can all be PR - somebody can wordsmith it, new coach, young players and just play word salad about building for the future so we don't want to limit the roster as we mature and grow as a team

Taking 20m per year for nothing - when this year and next year are really just "redshirt" or "gap" year is just short sighted. The fans that want Beal gone to sign a player just want activity, not accomplishment. "Oh boy, we signed D'Anthony Melton"!!! And how many extra wins will Melton truly get you?

I think graysons extra weight really messed with his foot speed last year. Also, you are actually top tier clown basketball GM if you’re comparing Kobe to Grayson. Do you realize how many 2nd rounds flame out of the league? Put some respect on Allen’s name bro.

I'm sure Beal will use the no trade clause to force the buy out so he can go to the team of his choosing.

If Portland waived DA because they didn't want multi year contracts in return then no way are they taking on Beal's 54M and NTC.

Well Grant does make almost $40 million in 27-28, so we'd be on the hook for one more year of him. I don't personally like Grant as a player. All he does is try to score, like tunnel vision even if there are more open teammates.

But I'd probably do the trade if we could take back less money, get under the 2nd apron and avoid reading daily about how much people hate Beal.

If we have Beal this year, I think he will be better, because too often he tried to get the centers involved with easy shots but none of them could shoot or finish inside, and now our Cs can, at least Williams. Not sure about Maluach.

Though he also might take on a bigger scoring load with KD gone and get more shots up and into rhythm too. Unless Green takes 25 shots on bad efficency.

With KD gone = 50% of Beal's redundancy is also gone.

He'll definitely look better this year.

Of all the options on the table, I want to choose one that doesn't shoot ourselves in the foot before anything happens on the court.

Hard to believe it but with Green FO created even greater redundancy. That said I don't see the urgency to get Beal off the team. It's not like we'll be competing either way.

If Beal accepts enough of a buyout for us to be allowed to stretch him in the first place doesn’t that inherently get us under the 2nd apron already? If so why would we still stretch him???? So we can afford to keep Nick fkn Richards? Going to (foolishly) give the FO the benefit of the doubt that there will only be a waive, no stretch.

So we could have an entirely different roster other than Booker again this year. How long has Isbia been owner? This is the 2nd time on his watch. That is if we buy out Beal and trade Richards, O'Neale and Allen. I guess we are keeping Oso and Dunn in addition to Book. Maybe Bud was not the problem. How many times has this happened during Booker's time with this franchise? Why would any good player want to come here?

James Jones contract ended June 30th. Is he officially gone? That will make it a clean sweep. We should now be in full alignment.

(said it before).... Less walk up and Durant Iso! More running and motion in the offense! Athletic bigs now running the floor, picking, cutting and defending!! Beal will be better, although it should be off the bench.

Top tier name calling. And some top tier analysis, bro. But you should throw a bit more name calling to really take your game that much higher, “bro”.

A Beal buyout would be the stupidest thing any Suns owner or GM has done in NBA history.
Why tf would anyone make a serious offer for Beal when all they have to do is wait for the buyout. Then ishbia will be paying their bills.
Thats the ultimate simp move.
Acting like Beal has a torn Achilles or like he’s 40 years old.
There’s absolutely no reason to even discuss or let the thought cross your mind to buy or stretch Beal.
Unless there’s an offer Beal stays.

Return to Phoenix Suns
