Idea to save DEN/SAC trade with NOP/WAS/BKN
Here is idea to save previously agreed trade, with teams involved still geting what they need
SAC out: Jonas Valanciunas
SAC in: Dario Saric
BKN out: Cam Johnson
BKN in: Michael Porter Jr., 2032 1st (unptorected)
NOP out: CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk, future 2nd
NOP in: Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey, Micah Peavy
WAS out: Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey, Micah Peavy
WAS in: CJ McCollum, Jonas Valanciunas, future 2nd
DEN out: Michael Porter Jr., Dario Saric, 2032 1st (unptorected)
DEN in: Cam Johnson, Kelly Olynyk
All this trades are already agreed, but not one is finished if I'm correct. Sacramento needs it's trade with Denver to go through to be able to sign Dennis Schroder. Denver needs backup C.
Question is - is Washington willing to flip Kelly Olynyk to Denver for Jonas Valanciunas who is reportedly ready to terminate his contract (buyout for $0).
If some of trades here already went through and can't be executed in this form, dear mods, please lock this tread.

DEN better off ducking tax IMO, there's no juice to squeeze from KO, he's be Saric 2.0.

I really like it.
Jonas nor Kelly are starters at this point. But here they are backing up the best player in the world and just need to be good enough to let him sit for 12-16mpg.. and Kelly is good enough for that.

Dario Saric
3.5/3.1/1.4 shooting 36.2%/26.9%/70% in 16 games/13.1 min
Kelly Olynyk
8.7/4.7/2.9 shooting 50%/41.8%/76.9% in 44 games/20.3 min

Dario Saric
3.5/3.1/1.4 shooting 36.2%/26.9%/70% in 16 games/13.1 min
Kelly Olynyk
8.7/4.7/2.9 shooting 50%/41.8%/76.9% in 44 games/20.3 min
Olynyk was playing on a tanking team, Saric was thrown to the dog house by a coach who was battling the GM.
Olynyk hasn't contributed to a good team in a while.
For the Niggets not st seize the opportunity to duck tax, the bar should be higher IMO.

I really don't understand this duck tax story about Denver when they have one of the highest payrolls for quite some time. When they decide not to resign KCP for $22M, contract that would put them in 2nd Apron, they are cheep, when Boston dismentles its team to get out of 2nd apron it is smart menagement.
Anyway I would like to hear idea to bring better backup C to Denver through trade or FA signing. Please elaborate I will support

It's not hard to underastand, it's basic cost-benefit analysis.
I didn't say this is bad because there is a better backup, I said it is bad because it puts the team in tax and doesn't benefit them.
If Horford takes 11M, do it, for KO, don't do it.

If Horford takes $11M from Denver I would be thrilled, but how real is that? If it doesn't happen what are other options. If options are Saric for $5M, Olynyk for $13M, Nnaji at backup C for Denver, or no backup C, I would take Olynyk and run with him without looking back.
If Denver can take Goga from Orlando in this kind of trade it would be even better, but would Orlando give him for freeing $8M from cap? Orlando is trying to win I don't think they would just give players for nothing. And Denver doesn't have much assets to offer.

Here is list of centers availabe for trade or FA:
Nick Richards, should cost a 2nd
Richaun Holmes, vet min
Nurkic (he can offer a buyout and sign with DEN for 6/7 mils)
Jock Landale, vet min
Precious Achiwua, vet min
I'd rather get any of these and not pay tax for Olynyk.

Ok, but I wouldn't.
Nick Richards is useless, if not Suns wold have kept him
Richaun Holmes, volud be better than nothing but not better than KO
Nurkic and Denver has history...not good one, I don't think he would come to Den
Jock Landale, vet min...I like him, but never proved he is more than 3rd C on good team and is not better than KO
Precious Achiwua, vet min - sounds good
I still don't understand part of ducking tax when Nuggets are trying to contend. If way to improve team is to pay tax even for KO, great go for it and bring C that can play 18 min per game so we could rest Jokic, and not lose 10 points adventage which we couldn't for long time

And the new league year started July 1.
