He'll definitely look better this year.

Of all the options on the table, I want to choose one that doesn't shoot ourselves in the foot before anything happens on the court.

(said it before).... Less walk up and Durant Iso! More running and motion in the offense! Athletic bigs now running the floor, picking, cutting and defending!! Beal will be better, although it should be off the bench.

Beal is not going to be happy coming off the bench.

You want to a repeat of last season?

Why don’t we buyout Booker and Green while we’re at it. Let’s just give away more talent

Who cares. He wants to stay in Phx. So he can stay and come off the bench.

He wasnt an issue. The problem was the guy who replaced him (Tyus), sucked and there was no justification for him to be replaced. And the coach who got fired for never having a direction or roles being defined enough, asked him to not play like him and play like Jrue Holiday. Same coach told Booker to stop acting like Booker on the court in a private meeting.

I think graysons extra weight really messed with his foot speed last year. Also, you are actually top tier clown basketball GM if you’re comparing Kobe to Grayson. Do you realize how many 2nd rounds flame out of the league? Put some respect on Allen’s name bro.

Top tier name calling. And some top tier analysis, bro. But you should throw a bit more name calling to really take your game that much higher, “bro”.

Grayson is considered one of the best snipers in the world. Kobe is going on a two way contract and was drafted deep 2nd round. It was a clown GM comparison you have to admit.

Beal not going anywhere. "Buyout discussions" recently in news is nothing new and won't happen. He will be asked to stay home. This is the Jae Crowder 2.0 route.

And nobody wants Allen or Royce unless u get back players of same salary which is redundant and Suns don't want that. The only thing can happen is Richards for 2nd round pick. Suns can use that to get another junk PF left on the free agent market (e.g. Lyles) and also make Koby Brea two-away contract in order to have room to sign a junk 3rd stringer point guard like Cory Joseph.

Here's your 2025 Suns team whether you like it or not. Enjoy it.

C Williams, Maluach, Ighodaro
F Dunn, Fleming, Lyes
F Brooks, Royce, Hayes
G Book, Allen, (Brea 2-way)*
G Green, Gillespie, Joseph

*If Beal gets bought out, then sure, u can convert Brea to regular contract but until then he'll have to be 2-way if Beal taking up roster spot even tho this is "Stay at home Jae Crowder" all over again.

Seems likely impossible that Beal will be traded at this point, but here's a fun one I've been working on:
Chicago receives Beal
Toronto receives Coby White + Zach Collins
Phoenix receives Immanuel Quickley + Patrick Williams

I believe there is also a version of this trade with Miami instead of Chicago where Wiggins goes to Toronto, but this one was easier to line up.

Who cares? Suns fans that want to see a better product on the court.

Two scenarios

1) they keep Beal through the 2027 but get to the WCF in 5 or 6 years

2) stretch and waive Beal but don't make the playoffs for 10 years

First, I know these examples are the extreme. But, there are some fans, myself, that could really care less about this season. Its the bigger picture. And stretching Beal does what - other than save Ishbia a lot of money. Well maybe they can combine O'Neale and Allen - but what contract are you bringing back. Or you sign a player with the TPMLE or MLE and you get 31 wins instead of 29. I personally think keeping Beal as an expiring 2027 plus trying to see if you can trade Allen and O'Neale for expirings by 2027 - is a longer term strategy that might lead to more successful over being worried about being the 10th seed, maybe, this year.

If your not trading or buying him out make him play and come off the bench. Why make him sit at home? that's dumb.

IMO this was the best game of the Booker/KD era of Suns basketball, anyone agree?

And you won’t get that with a Beal buyout and him playing for the warriors lakers or another contender. Suns will be in the lottery again without a lottery pick

It's an option

It essentially saves an extra year of dead money.

If we stretch the entire $97m, it would $19.4m in dead money until 2030
If we paid this year and stretched his remaining $57m, it would be over 3 years from next year which means we would owe him $19m until 2029.

Given Mark Williams will be up for an extension at the end of next season, I could see why Ishbia is so keen to stretch, one way or another.

Jesus_H_Macy wrote:If Beal accepts enough of a buyout for us to be allowed to stretch him in the first place doesn’t that inherently get us under the 2nd apron already? If so why would we still stretch him???? So we can afford to keep Nick fkn Richards? Going to (foolishly) give the FO the benefit of the doubt that there will only be a waive, no stretch.

Not enough. We're still about $9m over the 2nd apron.....

Had we not done the Williams trade and just declined the team option on Micic (which everyone expected we'd do), we would be just under $3m over.

As of now, Finney-Smith is not a part of this seven-team deal. The only players who were in the NBA last season who are part of it today are Capela, Durant, Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, Daeqwon Plowden and David Roddy, league sources say. – via New York Times

Esfandiar Baraheni: Asked the newest member of the Phoenix Suns Dillon Brooks where he was when he found out he was traded: “I was at a spa… having a peaceful time and found out. But I was happy about it. Excited to be a part of a young and hungry team.” – via x.com

So a repeat of last place in the Pacific or moving up to...4th?

So Richards just ceases to exist? It's not guaranteed he stays or goes. Same with O'Neale and Allen.
