Thats why i wouldnt be so quick trading him. He has fair chance to win minutes against TDS or Penda. Mo is a good scoring realese valve but teams get bigger and bigger we would need someone to create on the perimeter.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Why I'm happy that he's still on the team. Seems as the the FO believes in him behind the scenes more than the most of the fans that have already written him off with one true year under his belt and an offense that was not conducive offensive success. We'll see what a lil more time might get him. I hope that he makes a stride forward and proves his worth.... Even if it's to be used as an asset

That lineup needs a microwave scorer. Would not be shocked if a move is made at the trade deadline to address the need.

We're not playing 5 bench player units with Paolo/Franz/Bane/Suggs and relative health.

Last year the Magic staggered Paolo and Franz’s mins so that at least one of them was still on the floor and the bench still struggled.

Additionally, most successful teams have at least one guy that can get some points off the bench. I think it is necessary.

I mean, context is everything lol.

Our bench two years ago was a top 5 bench in the league and actually one of our best lineups that didn't even include Franz or Paolo.

Bench units last year because of a massive amount of injuries and all four of our top scorers going down.

Well, we had an amazing amount of injuries. Franz + bench was great, Paolo + bench was bad. Now he will at least be paired with Suggs or Bane.

There just isn't enough minutes there to get a relevant bench scorer without pushing AB/Jase/TDS/whoever out of the rotation completely.

Suggs/Bane/Wagner/Banchero/Carter
vvv
Jones/Black/Banchero/Isaac/MWagner
vvv
Suggs/Bane/(TDS or Howard)/Wagner/Carter

We can run more pick and roll heavy offense around Jones and Banchero with more catch and shoot players.
We can run more motion offense with our skilled guys.
Centers rotation could be matchup dependant but Moe gives more offensive punch and he could be lethal with Tyus like he was with Joe.
Carter can mix some handoffs into motion, tougher screens for Bane.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Are you watching the same Jett as everyone else. He has been horrid and is no chance of winning minutes against TDS, much less Penda. Since he is just $5.5 mil of wasted money, I think any kind of trade with Brooklyn would be better than just cutting the guy.

Would we be completely shocked if Tyus was the starter and Suggs came off the bench? This gives the first unit much needed playmaking and a true point guard and stabilizing force (a better version of Joseph last year) and gives the second unit a go to scorer and allows Suggs to work his way back more gradually.

Am I crazy here?

Yeah, I see no reason to dump Jett now that Mo has signed. He is exactly the player our second unit needs. I don't trust him to be that guy, but there is very little risk in finding out.

Yes.

Mosely is still the coach and Suggs is better than Tyus.

You are completely crazy. Tyus is only better than a Suggs who can’t play because of injury.

Nah just listing potential "bench scorers" in our future.

I think Tyus will end up with like 18 mpg as our 4th guard and he might not even make a playoff rotation.

Yes

If FO thinks of working Suggs back gradually, they rather start AB than Tyus who will get hunted by starting guards in the league.

Am I the only one who wants Caleb back? I think financially its impossible unless we make a trade. Not the biggest loss but really like Caleb. Sad. I actually think he's a fringe rotation guy. We are going to need guys like him on small deals who can step in and play.

Yeah I think we’ve finally got the pieces to get the most out of our shooters now, and I’d love to see Caleb and Jett both get a chance to light it up.

But if there isn’t room for Caleb he’s probably better of chasing a deal with Milwaukee, Indiana, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland or GSW where you know they’ve got the system to get the most out of him.

It’s shocking how many people still have faith in Jett.

He just has to make shots and be OK on defense. But same goes for Jase now.
