UTAH TRADES: Collins

LAL TRADES: Kleber, Rui, Knecht

Jazz pick up Knecht for next to nothing....

Lakers get a PF upgrade

Yeah I think this trade is fine. Finding small value to add to the two fillers and I think there are lots of versions that could work.

But disappointed at the missed opportunity to say “Knecht to nothing”

Meh, the Jazz simply pass. Rui is not at all interesting and Dalton Knect likely isn't getting any significant playing time on the Jazz. Maybe this is his value, but if so, may as well keep him.

Virtually no chance the Lakers trade Rui and Knecht for Collins.

Since I dont see us trading our 2031 1st for a short term solution, Knecht is our last trade asset to attatch with Rui (very slight positive value and an expiring)

100%. The difference between Collins and Rui isn't Knecht. It's probably 2 SRPs.

LA is probably looking for guard depth first, IMO. I bet guys like Collins get traded when all the other deals are mostly done (including Horford/Brogdon free agency).

Probably have to include Lakers SRP in this trade, but I like it. Lakers as of late that I know of, haven't shown interest in Collins, but could be a strategy on their part?.

There's a mixed bag of feelings between fans and wanting Rui over Collins, that's for sure.

I can quint my eyes and call collins the better player. But not way he the better expiring contract. Lakers wouldn’t add incentive here.

Think they the same tier of player with different advantages. John higher upside when it come to points. Rui has IQ, less turnover and not fouling advantage. Both meh defenders. Rui slightly less meh on defense.

Think the idea of collins is great till he on your roster. On paper a stretch big that is also a vertical threat sounds great.
