Shams: Jordan Clarkson expected to sign with Knicks

I remember one of the games vs Utah this past season, Breen was making a low key running joke over how Clarkson was shooting every time he touched it. Never passes. I get the value of an instant bucket getter off the bench but I hope he's not always a ballstopper

i get the feeling he was auditioning for a spot here knowing we had interest and what our needs are. there’s something to be said for him being revitalized now being on a team that’s actually playing for something other than ping pong balls

Basically, that was his rep, was it not? I remember when he was with the Lakers early in his career and posted numbers on a bad team yet they dumped him. Let's hope he strives for a 'ship instead of himself (or if he does the opposite the FO and Brown take responsive measures).

Don't know if this was reported here but I asked chatgtp "Who was reportedly jordan clarkson's biggest booster in the Knicks front office before they signed him?"

Didn't expect an answer but got: "It was assistant general manager Walt Perrin who was reportedly Jordan Clarkson’s strongest advocate in the Knicks’ front office. Perrin, who previously worked as the Utah Jazz’s VP of player personnel, had closely scouted Clarkson since the 2014 NBA Draft and played a key role in convincing New York’s front office to pursue him after his Jazz buyout."

pretty sure i read his drive rate and pass rate are better than anyone on the knicks other than brunson.

he did put up 4.4, 5, 3.7 assists per game last 3 years in Utah.

People forget he was the PG in LA before DLo and Zo came in. Cleveland and Utah positioned him to be a microwave scorer during his stints with those franchises but he occasionally played PG with them. A number of triple doubles as well

I’m kinda excited about him. We haven’t had a talent like this coming off the bench for us since JR Smith won 6th man of the year.

Last 3 years he’s shot at least 40% on corner 3s. We missed that in the playoffs.
