Miami/Bos/Chi
Chi sends Vuc to Bos
Chi gets Rozier/Jovic (taken into our TPE-so it's possibly 2 separate trades, and a fake 2nd sent to Miami)
Bos sends Simons to Miami
Bos gets Vuc
Miami sends Rozier/Jovic to Chi
Miami gets Simons
I think Miami could use Simons-they would look better like this
Herro/Mitchell
Simons/KJ
Wiggins/Highsmith
Bam/JJJ
Ware/Anderson
Bos gets a C who will play 80 games and they save $
Chic gets a look at Jovic. They buyout JCarter (maybe Bos sends some $ for that)

Boston says no. We need a centre but Vuc ain't it and we could get a better off for Simons

Fair enough, but I thought this was too good for Bos. Vuc is a great fit for a year, and Bos saves $6 million more in salary here (plus a bunch in lux tax). Seems like that's a home run for the Celtics

Miami didn't want to send Jovic out in a Kevin Durant trade. Why are we doing it for Simons?; and let's not even talk about it backcourt defense after this! Yeesh!

It’s a decent fit value and roster wise but if they move Simons they’d be doing it to get out of the tax completely so they prob need to save more money in the deal.
Otherwise it would be a solid enough fit.
Simons to MIA for some of their front court guys unfortunately makes a bunch of sense money wise.

But not at all for Miami. He's a terrible fit next to Herro. Similar offensive games, similar defensive games. Nothing complimentary, and our frontcourt is thin without Jovic, who as mentioned, was left out of trades for KD. I'm really not seeing this for the Heat.

Well that would be the swing part of the trade idea imo would Boston do it for pure savings or would they get an asset back.
But in terms of players Simons have to assume is better than Kyle Anderson/Kevin Love et al in terms of both play and potential longer term value.
I agree with the back court fit with Herro but unless Rozier is going to bounce back it looks to me like a pretty big back court hole that idk how it gets filled at a modestly high level without a real investment.

Re: Miami/Bos/Chi
I believe the Celtics are looking past this next year, at least to some degree. Vuc and at age 35 next season and 36 for the season Tatum is back doesn’t really make a ton of sense. Sure it balances the roster a bit for this season perhaps, but at this point I’d rather develop Queta and Williams with those minutes. Simons at age 26 is a guy that may fit for the future. I think if they trade him it is either to get completely or nearly out of the tax, or they attach and asset for a player that maybe fits better, but also fits the Tatum window.
A trade for Vuc only cuts 6 million, that’s something but I don’t think it makes sense given the current direction.

We just resigned Davion Mitchell and drafted a point guard who was projected by most to go in the lottery. I'm not that concerned about the point guard position.

Re: Miami/Bos/Chi
MIA part makes no sense. Simons is a bad roster fit, they like Jovic.
Vuc/Simons swap between BOS/CHI doesn't seem to make sense right now. CHI probably wants to push for play in and they need Vuc at C more than they need another scoring guard. They have White/Dosunmu/Huerter already. Less plentiful depth chart at C.
It's possible to revisit at the deadline. All 3 of those scoring guards are FAs after the year so, longer term, CHI may place more value on Simons' bird rights than 35 year-old Vuc's bird rights. It's also not insane that Simons could look pretty solid playing alongside Brown/White as a 3rd option and coached to make a stronger effort on defense playing with those guys to the point that BOS might not want to move him or if they do for better than Vuc.

Re: Miami/Bos/Chi
Two very common themes, get Rozier for nearly the same money as Vucevic but obviously he'd be behind Giddey, White, Jones, Dosunmu, Huerter and sit next to Carter, And the Bulls get 'a look at' a player that some other team couldn't find a reason to move up the depth chart when the Bulls have no reason t put him ahead of who they have. Who among Buzelis, Williams, Okoro, Essengue, even Terry, plus Huerter at the SF, is Jovic going to send to the bench so the Bulls can look for something that MIA didn't see?

What do you mean, we didn't see? He was a regular part of our rotation until he broke his hand.

Well one Simons isn’t really a point guard he’s a two guard, and it’s not my job to watch out for MIA’s roster building but it was already light on shooting there before the Robinson trade so it’s not an ideal fit but neither is playing Rozier/Mitchell together.

I doubt Rozier and Mitchell would need to. We have Herro and KJ to suck up most of the minutes next to Mitchell, and I'd rather let Dru Smith and Pelle Larsson play rather than Rozier.
