The Knicks have multiple options, KAT for LeBron or Robinson / Anunoby for LeBron are both possible. A Jimmy Butler for LeBron trade might make sense. And LeBron probably would be open to either New York or Golden State.
Denver could probably put together a decent package. Maybe Phoenix could convince Beal to waive his no trade policy to get to the Lakers. Houston could create a package around FVV.
So there are clearly options, but there are also clearly barriers to getting a trade done. If I was LeBron and I wanted out I'd probably seek a buy out and then side with a team that doesn't have to gut itself to obtain him.
Take 55 million, eat up a third of the cap and handicap your front office, then cry about how not enough is being done around you because all you do is play for championships a week after saying rings don't matter because you just got paid, then demand a buyout so you still get paid and can go to the team with the best chance to win that championship.....yeah, sounds like Lebron.
It's not about asking him to take the vet minimum. If he would've even taken 35 million, he would've helped the poor Lakers free up options to use their exceptions and other things that come with being under the apron/certain salary limits....but he intentionally did what he did then looks at others and shrugs.
Quick reminder, his net worth is 1.3 Billion. Go look up what Dirk, Duncan and others were worth and what they put on the table, knowing they wouldn't be able to match that salary with their production in the twilight of their careers, and let it go to others who could come in and help them win a championship. But this rich cheap coward isn't built like that....his millions are worth more than his legacy, and he's fine with fabricating one by collecting stats on the Lakers dime for his idolators.
What does any of that have to do with my original post?
Like I'm glad you got that off your chest, but it has nothing to do with my post.
