This guy measured very very similar to Donovan Mitchell. Slightly taller without shoes. Actually a touch lighter in weight which I'm sure will flunctuate. Slightly smaller wingspan but slightly better standing reach. Obviously he's not Donovan skillwise, but I think he'll play above his height just like Donovan.

Great attitude coming in.

gonna be a good one

“The ability to switch is important. I felt like I did a really good job of defending every position (at college). I feel like in the NBA it could be the same, and with that extra physicality, too. I’m just looking forward to getting to the next level and showing what I can bring.” He also emphasized how eager he is to defend some of the world’s best players. “Donovan Mitchell, definitely. Definitely LeBron. SGA. And I saw Caruso was on Jokic in the playoffs and made an impact on Jokic. I wanna see if I can do the same. I wanna try that.” The Raptors have been cross matching Jokic for years, he might be on the right team to try.

Pretty sure this is not what Martin wants. Thought the Raptors were going to trade RJ to get under the tax, then sign Martin to a rookie contract. Maybe they were unable to do that so Martin had to settle for a 2-way? Does this mean we have 1 more roster spot left?

here is the plan most likely

start martin on 2way, until 6-8 weeks into the season, then sign a standard rookie deal.

at that point his salary for the year plus $800k we are over the tax right now, will be around $2.3 mil. exactly the amount of money you would save by dumping temple at the deadline and thus get under the tax; barring any other trades.

Who's gonna take temple lol

And what's the benefit of delaying the standard deal if that's the plan anyway?

temple + cash to some team like we took Weisman and cash at the deadline last year

and delaying it drops his cap hit because its prorated. otherwise even dropping temple doesnt get the team under the tax.

I don't know that we can assume that dumping Temple will be just a cash thing, but it might be. Gotta get lucky with enough teams willing to take on deals like that such that the leverage is pointing the right way. Might cost a 2nd. But regardless of the cost, that does solve the finance if we wanted to sign Martin to a 3 year deal later in the season via the MLE.
