Would that be wise? AFAIK there were a lot of instances when scrubs go off in the summer league, or when future NBA stars struggle.

First of all he is their first round draft pick. Going off in the games is not the evaluation of a coaching staff. Most of the evaluation of a player is in practice. How he absorbs the schemes and coaching, testing his knowlegdge, how that player prepares himself, leadership and how he takes that and apply it in scrimages and games. The coaches can gauge how developed a player is and how far down the line is this player ready to contribute.

I want to see Kaspar be efficient and score on offense, but above that, I want to get the sense that he makes his teammates better. I want to see Ware, Pelle, Keshad shine as a result of Kaspar’s presence and his leading of the offense and getting them into good sets, putting them in positions to succeed and have high quality offense. I want to see him bring the best of others too, but those three are his actual Heat teammates, so if he impacts their games for the better, he will get steady minutes on the regular season roster as a result.
