Indiana needs a center. W. Carter Jr. -> A. Nesmith straight up

Seriously doubt the Magic trade their starting center for Nesmith whom is currently a starter to be their backup guard. But, I would do Slim for Nesmith all day.

Magic need to get off a bigger contract and Wendell is a good place to start. Isaac for Nesmith doesn't work in the trade checker and I don't think Indiana would do the deal if Bradley or Sheppard for Isaac had to be added. We could always do Bitadze + Jett for Nesmith but that doesn't help us as much financially. Wendell always being injured is a problem, and you have to have 3 playable centers when he's on the team. For me, it's time to cut bait.

Isaac is a much better place to start than WCjr.

Slim making $15 mil per playing 15mpg while always playing injured while being a liability on offense is a bigger problem. WCJ is more valuable playing Center at 25mpg to this team as constructed instead to be trading a starter for bench warmers. Take whatever scrub they add and throw him to some bottom feeder for an added future 2nd. Team saves money and you get your prized bench player who probably won't be happy with reduced minutes.

If that's the way it plays out I agree with you. I'm holding out hope Isaac will get to 20-24 minutes/game (probably a pipe dream). He and Moe make a good combo on the 2nd unit where Isaac can cover for Moe on D.

Agree with you there, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Moe/Goga lineup with Moe at PF.

I'd like to see that too. I'm hoping that Isaac can be a real player this year but not holding out too much hope. If he can't he needs to be the 1st to go and then have the C/PF backup rotation be Goga, Moe and Penda. Goga and Moe will be on such good contracts I hate to get rid of either of them.

That is the funniest joke I heard this year. A 15mpg $15 mil per year bench player over a legit starting Center. Magic have made Isaac available to trades, not WCJ. It is good to have dreams. Bravo.

I think you are probably right. I'm just having those flashbacks of how good Isaac can be when he's right and I don't see Wendell reaching those levels. If he doesn't come out showing some signs of being able to play up to 24 minutes/game he needs to be gone. Trying not to be too critical of Wendell but he seems to have a mopey type personality where something is always wrong. Doesn't match the personality of the rest of the grinders on the team.

Any word on Kessler Edwards? He could be exactly what the Magic needs for Mr 14. I see him as a light's out shooter on the wing that give a cirrical 5-8 mpg bench burn in most games.

Agreed. WCJ is a legit starter on a great contract. Isaac’s value is all theory at this point.

I think his agent hates Orlando, too. Duffy is a West Coast guy, and he steers most of his clients that way. Vuc does still live here, tho, and his kids would probably rather him be here. He was practicing here last week.

I still believe Isaac is a potentially major X-factor, even at $15m and 15mpg…but I’d really consider this if Mose thinks he can coax more defense out of Paolo (and Vuc) or, at least, scheme around them….in this scenario, WCJ is still here - in his ideal role as high-minute, versatile big, backing up both 4&5. You don’t want to mess with starting lineups too much, but total minutes & matchups could certainly be juggled.

I dont know their financial situation and how close to the apron they are, but on paper it fits. Also, with a new FO, we don't know how they feel about existing players.

I certainly would do it.
