Glad it realizes how dumb his whole career ultimately was. Great on him making millions doing it. And I'm sure it wasn't easy. But he added nothing at the end of the day. He just told us things 2 minutes faster...

Isn’t that everything? We’re here talking about athletes and all they do is put a ball in a hoop…and they get paid millions for it too.

What? The players play a game that's fun to watch. A great writer will make watching the game better for us. Things like Lowe doing his 10 or 5 things he likes, gave us things to look for to enhance the enjoyment of the game. A bill simmons comes up with wild and crazy fantasy trades that are fun to talk about. Woj...he did the job of a press release.

Maybe we should have a little more compassion although I agree with you. Hope he gets better. That's sad

Cancer didn’t force him out, Woj insists. But it did bring some clarity. “I didn’t want to spend one more day of my life waiting on someone’s MRI or hitting an agent at 1 a.m. about an ankle sprain,” he says. In May, Woj traveled to Rogers, Ark., for a memorial for Chris Mortensen, the longtime NFL insider who died in March from throat cancer. Mortensen spent more than three decades at ESPN. When Woj arrived in Bristol in 2017, Mortensen was among the first to welcome him. Many ESPNers made the trip to Arkansas. What Woj was struck by was how many did not. “It made me remember that the job isn’t everything,” Woj says. “In the end it’s just going to be your family and close friends. And it’s also, like, nobody gives a s---. Nobody remembers [breaking stories] in the end. It’s just vapor.

Hahaha

Well that's just isn't true. Woj and Shams are borderline Media/NBA legends. Even guys like Zach Lowe and Windhorst are well respected in the field.

But he's right in the sense that, looking back, I don't remember "WHO" broke trades/stories between Shams and Woj. I just know it was usually between these two.

There aren't a lot of threads these days about all the special insight Ahmad Rashad provided on inside the NBA from back in the day. Fame is short lived.

Well, the cancer stuff is awful for sure. And I'm not saying he's a bad guy, he's certainly not SAS. I just think it's wild that people have turned him into a celebrity of sorts. That has nothing to do with the obvious F Cancer and I wish him nothing but the best there.

I agree fame is short-lived. But even a name like Amad Rashad rings bells in basketball circles, simply because of the work he put in.
