Whatever the Vet minimum is for Beal is the amount he’ll give up in the buyout with Phoenix lol

I'd be ok with him, but Cam drove me crazy. He'd have one good game followed by 3 or 4 where he seemed to be just trying to throw up misses all game. I never want to see him play for us again.

NY would only be able to offer Beal the vet min - and likely would let Clarkson out of his contract if they get Beal.

I’d love Beal off the bench to pair with Duce in the backcourt but it’s hard to see Beal/Brunson playing extended stretches and Beal should be able to find a better role - and more money - elsewhere

How did we get this pick again??

Traded our 2022 1st - which I believe turned out to be Jalen Duran a pick before Jalen Williams - for a protected Bucks pick (#19 in 25 traded to Brooklyn) and protected Detroit pick (#16 in 25 traded MIN) and the WAS pick.

In hindsight, would have been better to have just kept Jalen Williams, did a sign and trade with Dallas for Brunson, and not done the Mikal trade.

The Wizards being “incredibly motivated to keep their pick” sounds like blatant tanking to me. If true, that’s pretty pathetic. Their moves don’t really reflect that tho, unless they’re just dumb.

That team definitely has enough talent to make the play in. CJ, Khris, Smart, Olynyk, Sarr, Whitmore, Bilal, Bub, Champagnie, etc

Celts losing Tatum, Horford, Jrue, KP and Pacers losing Hali and Myles, should push the Wiz up a notch or two too.

the wizards don't have to tank to keep their pick. even with the pickups this summer and way better roster, they are a bottom 3 team.

The pick won’t convert. They know that part of the game too well.

CALEB HOUSTAN

I'm gonna continue pounding the table for the 6-8 wing who can shoot the 3 ball (potential to be a sharpshooter, really nice, fluid shot, can shoot off catch, movement, and dribble), and plays defense. + he's still just 22

Nothing about the team they constructed says they plan on tanking. They have enough vet talent and nice young players to be a surprise team in a decimated east. The pick is only top 8 protected. Utah, Sacramento, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Portland, Chicago and Toronto all look worse on paper.

We have that project already. His name is Pacome Dadiet. He is only 20.

Was the Eiffel Tower built in a day? Now we have the twin Eiffel Towers - with a Peugeot building as well. When do we start calling the bench the FOREIGN LEGION? :D

There are only so many projects you can carry on a roster in contention for a Championship.

Can he defend? Every time I have seen him play he looked a little stiff. The only thing I remember reading about him was he was the tallest player with 500 minutes+ or something without a dunk. If he can defend I wouldn't mind him on the roster.

Old news maybe:

https://nypost.com/2025/07/05/sports/guerschon-yabuseles-contract-gives-knicks-flexibility/

Available free agents who could be signed on a veteran minimum deal include three players on the Knicks last season — Landry Shamet, Cam Payne and Delon Wright — along with a host of others such as Ben Simmons, Malcolm Brogdon and Javonte Green.

One of those would work, not Payne though. At 6'10 Simmons is intriguing, guard skills but not guard size like all the others. Simmons was guarding Jokic in the playoffs when Zubac sat. That lack of shooting though, I know
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

indiana let go of turner because they thought 30m for a center for that kind of end-result may not be worth it so they would have gone fishing for a rookie center, which is way cheaper. People have been asking why did they let go of turner when its pretty obvious why

Of course the pacers ownership is stingy...why would everyone else expect otherwise?
