It's not the case with this particular player.
Gambo talked about it after the trade. The Rockets offered him in the KD's trade but we didn't want him.
The Suns preferred more 2nds on the package
over him. They didn't want him because of his
character/personality/locker room stuff.
Gambo said that he talked to
someone that knows him personally, and he
told him that Whitmore "is a bad guy."
A couple weeks later he is traded for just a couple 2nds to a terrible team... that proves that the story was true.
We got next to nothing in the KD trade. If we negotiate better, and have him as well in the original package (at least, lets not talk about how we did not manage to get in any of Jabari, Eason, Sheppard, our other picks, etc...) then we could have done the same, and have 2 more seconds. I didnt think he was the second coming or that we should have kept him, etc... but while we are at it - from what I've seen from him, I think there is a good chance he will be having close to the impact that Jalen Green has next year. Dumb athletic chucker who can score in bunches on bad efficency, not a team player, doesnt really play defense, doesnt really pass either - kinda fits the bill, don't it?
Udoka has to be the worst HC in the entire league. He played Jalen Green on every **** game 33 minutes per game. What a dumb HC lol.

So in all likelihood - Ishbia could have
1) released Micic Richards and Marin
2) had a buyout with Beal
gotten below the second apron
I just hope that when Ishbia eventually does the w&s that he doesn't so something really stupid and sign a player to sign a player. Meaning overpay
Granted, I think they only have access to the MLE TPE

Barry Jackson:
Heat could offer Beal about $5 M of non-taxpayer midlevel exception and stay under tax OR as much as $12 M of non-taxpayer midlevel and go over tax and then be hard capped (Riley said they will probably try to avoid tax this season and then go back in, in future years). But certainly possible they might only offer minimum. We'll see.

I will laugh when Riley swings and misses

Hopefully if they do in fact do the W&S - they have a good trade lined up as well with Allen and O'Neale as if you are going to stretch the guy for five years - it shouldn't be to sign D'Anthony Melton

Going to be pretty frustrated if we stretch him. So short sighted

It saves Ishbia upwards of $200m over two years I have read
That is why he is being stretched
Don't be fooled by the "we can now use the TPMLE" or "we can now trade multiple players" - which are both true - but this saves him a boatload of cash
Waiting for a player to be signed so Flex can say "they always had a plan. relax. this front office is playing 3d chess"

Not sure how to handle so much excitement. Getting Beal and now getting rid of him is amongst peak moments of being a Suns fan. This FO knows what they are doing.

Flex is just an attention seeker, I don't pay any attention to him

We probably got ANOTHER 2nd out of the KD trade.
We traded all 5 2nds that we got on the trade in draft's night...so if we have a 2nd now it has to be a different one.
