Better lucky than good. Huge defensive plays from Barger to save the day.

Have been watching the games but doing work at the same time, so only partially paying attention.
EDIT on Hoffman -- see he is now up.
Yimi is on the IL, sprained ankle. You might have meant Yariel though.
Didn't realize Yimi was on the DL.
But add Yariel to the something must be up list.
He pitched 3 of 4 going into Friday, but I would have thought Yariel would have been available today. Wonder if something's up or they just wanted to rest him. Green was definitely down today.
And yeah, Yimi slipped and fell in the cold tub and sprained his ankle. Not ideal given the bullpen situation.

Hoffman looking like how he pitched in the first month these past couple of weeks. Command and Velocity much sharper than how he looked in the terrible month of May.
Perfect Home Stand and this team has been fun to watch. What a difference from how this team looked the first month. Hopefully the momentum continues on the road.

It is laughable that a guy with .694 OPS, and hitting .247 for the year in Julio Rodriguez makes the All-star team over Springer. What a joke, and it shows it is basically a popularity contest.
Springer is having a better season in all the key offensive metrics. It is the 2025 All-star game, and not 2024 or 2023, when Rodriguez was having much better seasons. Just rename the All-star game as the Fans and League Choice Game. Not on merit but popularity.

I’d rather Springer get the rest anyway. He’s been an all-star plenty of times.

Did he have enough GP in CF to even qualify in CF? He has played half his games at DH, and a bunch in RF too.

Yeah to be fair Springer got hot just recently to boost his numbers so fans didn’t really get a chance to notice, but I agree that he should be there over buxton and Rodriguez. He’s literally the best hitter on the team right now…

MLB's 'nicest player': Cubs' Matthew Boyd is All-Star after crushing injuries - USA Today
– The Toronto Blue Jays, who have won the AL East just once since 1993, have the entire country of Canada in a frenzy after finishing off a four-game sweep of the Yankees for the first time in franchise history, and moving into first place.
Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins also boldly stated that the Blue Jays will be ultra-aggressive at the trade deadline, seeking a starter and a catcher.

Forget about another Catcher, another high leverage bullpen arm should be a major priority along with another Starter.

Another catcher seems awfully random. Heineman is just fine as a backup.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

He definitely never said anything about another catcher. That looks made up.
