Raps were paying Boucher and Trent a combined $30M not too long ago. Now they both struggle to just get vet minimum deals.

That is horrendous cap management.

Trent re-signed when he was playing the best basketball of his career and was still getting better.

And then he stopped progressing and even regressed, which then lead to their decision to let him walk fo nothing.

We can complain about the Raptors mismanaging contracts but look at the Bucks/Suns right now, having 20M/23M of dead money on your books for the next 5 years is a killer. Good luck to both teams trying to contend during that time lol

There next step after that is Grayson Allen, I think. They will be able to combine salaries again after the buyout too. But have roster spots to fill and the repeater tax is crazy high.

He does get defended like he can shoot but it doesn’t really matter when he isn’t that good at shooting in the first place and is a bottom 50 defender in the league lol.
