If Ace is in for a rough year (which I agree he is), he only has himself to blame. I liked him up until about two weeks before the draft and I soured on him. Glad we passed.

I like how much bigger and stronger he looks than these guys. Should be ready for that primary backup spot (don't love the idea of him start.

Edwards looked like he was kinda just going through the motions. Jumper looked good.

Broome looked exactly like what the scouting report said. Low ceiling, high floor guy. Kinda reminds me of Carlos Boozer without the scoring chops. Looks like he should be able to do some DHO stuff with the guards, hit an open 3, rebound, and punish small in the post by sealing them off and getting easy ones. The athleticism looks pretty terrible and I'm not sure what position he guards. Gonna struggle on the perimeter at the 4 and not gonna provide rim protection as a 5.

VJ... hell yeah. He just looked so much better than everyone else on the floor. Just summer league, but I'm excited that we might have a stud. Offensive creation is supposed to be the concern, but we was able to create pretty damn easily, and was doing a lot of things that I think will translate to real games. That ability to rise up over guys in the midrange could be a major weapon.

On the other side... thank god we didn't draft Ace, lol. Filipowski looked solid. He falls into the Broome category defensively, but he's skilled offensively.

I'm tired of the "it's just summer league" thinking. When you are rolling out a top 3 or 5 prospect that level of prospect is supposed to look like the best player on the floor. Remember when Evan Turner played and we all realized, why doesn't he LOOK like the best guy out there? Or Fultz?

Yes, a player can have a bad game, bad shooting nights happen all the time. However, even when the shot doesn't fall, that player should still "LOOK" like the best player. Best player meaning - looks calm and posied. Not sped up. Playing a good brand of basketball even amidst the chaos of summer league teams. Able to handle pressure, beat his man (even if shot or layup misses) getting what HE wants and not what THEY want him to have.

VJ aced it all.

Raynaud is tantalizing af when it comes to his shooting ability. Having a true stretch 5 would be amazing.

Ultimately, I fell in love with Broome's production and IQ. I think this guy is going to have a long career in this league as a production beast.

Still think 2 twos to move up for Fleming would have been ideal. Imagine Bona and Fleming flanking VJ... oh what could have been.

Kobble, this might be the first time you and I have ever agreed on a prospect we drafted. Truly could be a prophetic sign of things to come! 8-)

Kasparas Jakatrocious getting dominated. He looks totally overmatched by NBA (summer league) athleticism.

Needs to improve his handle big time considering his mediocre athleticism to have a chance.

We don’t need Fleming when Broome shoots volume 3’s at a decent clip like in game 1. Very possible Johni ends up a better player.

Fultz looked like the best player on the floor during summer league. Tatum was balling too, but when they matched up, it wasn’t clear Tatum was going to be the better player at that point.

Now Turner is a completely different story.

This. Tired of the false narrative that Fultz looked bad in summer league. He looked great in summer league.

Then a few months later in training camp, his shot was totally messed up.

I have to correct it every time because it’s just not true. That kid would have been an absolute stud had whatever happened, never happened. Just in that clip I posted, he looks every bit as good as VJ if not better, who everyone is currently drooling over (rightfully so).

Kasparas looks rough. In hindsight, maybe I shouldn’t have put so much weight on the first half of his freshman season over how he finished.

Donovan Mitchell going nuts in the SL was such vindication after defending him so hard predraft. Him and Tatum were my guys (ironically played for two of my most hated college teams).

I agree and disagree. If he never would've messed up his shot then yeah it definitely would've changed things. But for him I think it would've always been something because the dude was a mental midget and a complete headcase. It was always going to be something with that guy. If not his shot then stage fright or some other BS. His talent was NBA worthy, but his psychology is not cut out for pro sports unfortunately.

One guy I really liked as I watched the Heat summer league game was Myron Gardner. He's tough, rebounds aggressively for his size, can hit the open three, and doesn't try and do too much. He has some Philly type vibes to him.

4th guy drafted top 5 who had 25pts 10 rebs on their first game in summer league. The other 3, Wemby, Tatum and Jalen Brown.
