For youth development: a pro-B salary in France can be in the €45,000 per season range (JA Vichy-Clermont 2022–2024) and a pro-A can be €100,000 per season range (Le Mans Sarthe Basket 2024–2025). Usually actual contracts are not disclosed though.

So: yes he is probably on a huge pay increase.

A 8-12x pay increase in the NBA, probably. Certainly he is in life-changing money now.

He can't go unless Denver agrees to it.

But that’s different.

You’re talking about an established player that Europe is desperate to sign versus a young guy at the bottom of the totem poll.

And my guess is that Jonas wouldn’t actually get the equivalent of $10M USD in Greece.

But what he would likely get is a fully tax free contract, and be given a free house and free cars.

So you factor the lack of taxes and the lack of major expenses, and the end result might be more.

And-1

We need to remember that the pro-B in France is a G-league type division. Penda was not paid "star" money. In fact, he might have been paid as low as €20k. It is hard to know. But certainly his time in pro-B did not equate to anything near €100k a year. Not even half!

He was in the top France league this year though. Regardless I still think the rookie contract here is definitely more money. Also earnings potential is much higher in the NBA and the fact that most players dream is to play in the NBA.

Really it's this.

The quicker you get into the NBA, the quicker you can get that 2nd contract which theoretically could be tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars.

On defense yes...

From looks I can kind of see it. He looks like a combination of AB and Caleb Williams.
