Re: ATL - First Ever 7 Team Trade Completed
I feel like this makes it less likely that the Heat get Beal but much more likely that the Clippers do. For one, the Heat no longer have the ability to offer more money than anyone else that's been mentioned as a possible suitor. Plus, there's going to be fewer minutes to go around. With the Clippers, the ability to get minutes will be there but he runs into the same problem he had in Phoenix where he's the third option behind two other perimeter players.

Washington reunion you say?

Heat are now hard capped at the first apron and can't use their MLE.
Clippers spent most of their MLE on Brook but am seeing a lot of pundits assuming Beal heads their way nonetheless.

Pretty wild that he wants to go there and now fight for shots between two identical players at his position (Powell and Herro) though.
That's his kink I guess.

Of the 6 teams that have been mentioned as Beal suitors: Bucks, Lakers, Heat, Clippers, Nuggets and Warriors I don't think any of them can offer more than the minimum

From the Heat's perspective, the Powell trade is a great trade as a singular trade but it is also just such a non needle mover

There seems to be little Market for small offensive guards. Wonder if we could get Cam Thomas for cheap.

Feels like this opens up lanes for us to acquire Wiggins.

Maybe. I think losing Kyle Anderson opens up a need for a small ball 4, but how big that need is depends on the progress of Kel'el Ware and Nikola Jovic

And this is where Miami's insistence on "never tanking/rebuilding" always gets them in trouble. Riley is absolutely gonna squeeze the well dry and gun for that 6th seed, but unlike us, there isn't a single Top-20 guy on that roster. I think they were looking to move Wiggins for a guard upgrade, but now that they got their guy in Powell, doubt they have interest in moving him. That next Herro extension is gonna instantly be a Top-5 worst contract in basketball. I can't wait.

Or Powell makes it easier for them to trade Herro.

I'd bet money that they're envisioning a Herro/Powell starting backcourt.

What's going on in Utah.gif
https://bluemanhoop.com/golden-state-warriors-jonathan-kuminga-next-team-now-painfully-obvious-surprise-trade
The Golden State Warriors may lose Jonathan Kuminga to the Utah Jazz after the stunning John Collins three-team trade created an avenue for them to have cap space. Bobby Marks noted they will likely stay over the cap, but the Jazz have a $26.6 million trade exception too. With Kuminga dangling in free agency as the best available player, Utah may try to swoop in and steal the 22-year-old.

Could the Bucks jump in and send Kuz to the Warriors while taking back a big TPE?

Everything seems to be happening very quickly for Orlando. I hope they’re ready for expectations.
