This is just the precursor to send Herro to his hometown Milwaukee for Giannis

Clipper Fan/Board Mod here:
Nice move to pick up Norm. He's a solid player, a good locker room presence, and a dead-eye shooter--a valuable guy to have. I'll be pulling for him and you both next year.

Powell give needed shooter and gives the Heat another press defender with Mitchell, Larsson and Wiggins

Journalist propagating information to do damage control for the organization and qualm the nerves of a young player is what those journalist did… you need to stop hitting and taking digs with false information. You know for a fact that Riley would have traded Herro for Mitchell. It’s disingenuous and why many in here are irked with your rampant behavior. 30% good engagement, 70% bs rants.
I don’t know that for a fact because he’s still on the roster despite the several stars that have wanted to be here. I know, calling the front office or Herro on their **** is the biggest way to get people irked but the front office is open to criticism just like the players.
Your victim mentality if you and Bam vs the world… stop it… really. Most of us are good with trading Herro, more so than Bam… but can also admit that Bam is flawed himself. Problem is that your criticism is usually outlandish and based on false assertions and extremes. Cnwter yiurself and see the logic and rationality behind things rather than going on crazy rants and viewing things and thus spewing things as extremes.
Mitchel for Herro would have been done if we had enough to offer along with Herro. Our cupboard was bare back then.

I want two things from Miami. Either Bam or Herro or one of the young guys makes a massive leap and they overperform. Or they don't and we are awful and are in the AJ sweepstakes.
Looks like FO is aiming for a repeat of last season. Where we probably end up in play in and then get bounced round 1. Normall Powell helps us win a couple games to probably make play in and playoffs but no more than that.
Go young and develop or go all in. Miami is just middling. They can't accept just the possibility of being awful for a season while the kids develop
I kind of feel that way too. I want them to commit to either a rebuild or go all in. Going all in means being willing to trade a project like Jovic, Ware, or JJJ for a proven star. They are still playing in the gray. From a basketball perspective, this was a great move. It just doesn’t make a direction clear.
We traded KLove and KAnderson for an expiring Norm Powell and you’re upset?! Lol

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
The value-check comparables for Herro archetype of player on the market this offseason have not been kind to his case for any future extension to be "higher of a price" next offseason.
If it doesn’t get done in October, then we can get it done next summer. It will just be a little bit higher of a price.

Lost only semi-retired Klove and Anderson. Massive W.
We can still be competitive while also have a developmental season for the young bucks.
That's what the bulls, sacramento kings do. And it gets them nowhere.
The focus this season should be on development and asset collection. Moving Wiggins for a 1st rounder. They should have used Duncan non guaranteed to get picks. If you trade for a player, go for a young player who isn't in a good situation and see if you can rehabilitate him.
This is just a mid move. It doesn't help with development. It doesn't get more assets for a future trade. It's just about scrapping to the 1st round
Who were we developing behind Tyler Herro? Pelle Larrson profiles as a solid role player with no where near the scoring chops of a Powell. Why do you want to leave Bam and Herro hanging out to dry? They deserve some help.

Not upset at all. I said it was a great move. I’m simply saying that it seems like they haven’t picked a direction.

PG: Mitchell - Jakucionis - Rozier
SG: Herro - Powell - Larsson
SF: Wiggins - Jaquez - Highsmith
PF: Adebayo - Jovic - Fontecchio
Ce: Ware - Johnson
I expect Rozier and Fontecchio to be packaged next

On an expiring contract and can later be packaged in a more significant deal.
Or not and perhaps can be retained at a valued number (much lower than Herros)
Credit where its due, Mia made a solid move today
Ima just say it right now, there is going to be a lot of moments where the Heat look better with Powell on the court rather than Herro.
The delusion about Herro’s talent is about to be exposed. Herro and Powell are not that far off from each other.

Powell averaged 25 on 63TS% without Kawhi this year while shooting 44% from 3 on 8 attempts. Almost got him an all star spot

Clippers valued him enough to send out Powell who scored almost 24 a night for them lol

Nice get for a cheap price on Powell.
You all should make a separate thread for Powell's acquisition.

I have no expectation for this season. If they make the playoffs fine, if they don't it fine as well. I am not looking it as some failure for Bam and Herro. It's more to give them as much responsibility so I can decide whether to move foward with them. If they fail, we get a great draft pick in a great draft.
The worst thing that can happen is this is the Norman Powell show for next season. He's the no 1 option or the no 2 option ahead of Bam. We make playoffs and get bounced in round 1. This is probably what happens. And to me that's a waste of a season.
