Poor Norm, can’t seem to find a home even when playing very efficient basketball.

The market for score first no defence SG’s is brutal.

Wow... surprised Clippers traded Norm after he was getting a lot of allstar love. Collins has been pretty damn good when Utah hasn't been holding him back. Think Clippers realized they needed to be bigger in the playoffs so Kawhi didnt have to play PF.

More so probably didn’t want to pay him. You don’t want to pay shooting guards who don’t play defence 30M+.

He’s on an expiring contract.

Norm is already 32. Time flies.

Norm's next deal will be tricky. I can't see him getting more than his current salary on a long term. Teams generally don't want to pay big for those mid 30s years.

The bigger and two years old is what he mentioned.

I like Battle though and proven to be pretty decent in spot minutes. I'd waive Castleton maybe for him, feels like we can find a Castleton player anytime we want.

Battle is one of my favorite raptors players right now. You will have to fight me if you want to waive him lol.

Fair enough. I just thought Battle has a partial guarantee and plays the same role as Houstan. Would we need both? He becomes expendable.

Castleton could go but I still think we need some size and he fits what we do with bigs.

I think this means Beal is 100% going to the Clippers. If that happens then this move makes 100% sense and the Clippers got a lot better overall.

Miami just got a free 20PPG scorer on a expiring. 0 chance we can get anything for RJ if thats the value on the market lol.

Yeah, wouldn’t be shocked if they aggressively pursue Beal on the waivers.

Correct on the 2nd part. The league doesn’t want one dimensional shooting guards at 25M + a year.

Teams just don’t value Norm the same way we do. lol. Surprised that he can never get good value back. We got the best deal for him and that was 4 years ago.

I thought Miami would just tank hard because their team is quite bad. But tanking isn’t in Riley’s MO.

So... if we drop one of the firsts and throw in the Demar daughter screams at the free throw line do we have a deal?
People: "“The Warriors are said to have a lot of interest in 2022 fourth-overall pick Keegan Murray and would open negotiations with the Kings should the 24-year-old be on the table, sources said,” Siegel reported.

So why flame Murray and Derozan for expensive RJ and no upside Ochai when just so happens GSW covets him for Kuminga. Anybody? Or are we just hating. Maybe I whiffed on the two firsts. The biggest problem in this league is the agents all want their 25-30m for players not worth half that. I watched a league insider flame our contract for iQ but Barrett or IQ is really an addition by subtraction under tax proposition. Doing nothing may be trying to save face for doing IQ's deal.

And easier to move Barrett's deal without noise as we never signed him to that whereas Quickley we sure did.

Pointing out that he does not have positive value as a trade chip around the league is an objective truth.

I don’t care even care for Whitmore like that on this team. I just think it was a good low risk high reward move for the Wizards to get him. It’s not that big of a deal.

Being the 66th highest contract in the league, sandwiched in between Andrew Wiggins, Devin Vassell, and Afernee Simons, is hardly "Paid like a high impact starter".

Barrett is about to go into a year where he is back in the role he thrived in when he first got here. You know, when he put up 22/6/4 on 62TS%. But hey - we also could have Whitmore throwing up 18 inefficient shots a night with 4 passes. That might be better.

FWIW - I am fine with trading Barrett. People disagreeing with you are not "attached to mediocre players". Attack the argument, not the person.

Yeah, RJ is paid $27.7M this year. The median starter salary (excluding all rookie scale stuff) would be the 75th highest paid player in the league (there being 150 starters) - and this year that is 25M. He's paid pretty much by definition like an average starter, not a "high impact" starter.

These NBA contracts are insane. Good for the NBAPA.

Booker is good but he isn't good enough to warrant spending that much of the cap on him.

Ochai is a 3&D player who has decent value.
RJ, despite his warts, is a better fit for the team than Demar

Keegan's shooting has got worse and hasn't shown anything to say his value is this high at all.

It's possible the Warriors are just trying to get some young player with a bit of upside for Kuminga. It doesn't mean Keegan is really all that good.

The two firsts is insane.

The market for one way guards like Simon’s, Monk, Lavine, Demar, RJ, Norm, etc are collapsing before our eyes.

Teams have to be cap conscious in this new CBA world.

As much as my socialist heart rebels against this... this is more in line with the real drivers of success in the NBA. It's a star-driven league. The money SHOULD go to the top, and if we didn't have artificial max salaries we'd see way more of it go there.

The nice thing about the cap inflation is that fringe guys can now make life-changing money even if they only last a year or two in the league. And the middle class, as much as they are being driven towards the MLE - that MLE is now worth pretty much what the Heatles were making as superstar players, so overall there's a lot of money there for the bulk of the league even with superstar salaries driving towards their worth.

Never understood people balking at the money superstars get.

People don’t realize how much revenue they generate for their franchises.

The superstars of the league are bringing in atleast 100M of revenue a year for their respective teams.
