What a joke of an offseason. This team won’t come close to sniffing a title again

Some positives at the moment:
I like that Celts took a center in the draft
I like that we are going to give some young big men a chance at major minutes

When we are next in the playoffs, esp when Tatum is back, we need some big men in their 20s ready to go to war for the city of Boston

The team's social media coordinator chimes in:

Celts17Pride wrote:Question: If the Celtics decide to sign Dame Lillard, can they apply for two disabled exceptions? (Tatum, Lillard)

The NBA Disabled Player Exception (DPE) allows a team to sign, trade for, or claim a player on waivers to replace a player who is expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury or illness. This exception is granted if an NBA-appointed physician determines it's substantially more likely than not that the injured player will be unable to play through June 15. The value of the DPE is capped at either half of the injured player's salary or the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, whichever is less

Idk about this but apparently the "2nd apron can't get waiver/buy out guys" doesn't apply in the summer so it doesn't apply re: Lillard.

Anybody got the whole article? Also, based on them exploring trades for Simons since the first reported deal, i’m assuming there really isn’t a market for him. That lines up with all the other combo guards around the league not really having a market in the trade landscape

I mean, Jalen Green just got traded for KD. Norman Powell just got traded too. Lavine was traded a few months ago. Bane got traded for like 5 1st round picks.

All of them can play the 2 and are best known for their scoring. Most are on the younger side..

Phoenix FO literally went out of their way to shade Green and said the #10 was the valuable asset they got, and he's an atrocious fit there. Powell got traded for a bag of balls in K. Anderson and Kevin Love.

If a guy is purely a 2-guard and can't play well above average D and score with above average efficiency they aren't going anywhere with value.

I could be wrong but the Celtics probably aren't winning it all next year.

Probably means there are more moves coming today.

Brad hasn't met with the media since the draft.

Since that time, he's signed 2 FA (Minott, Garza) and made 2 trades (Jrue and KP out, Simons and Niang in). That's not enough moves to get a press conference?

All that's left for today is the Lillard signing and trading Simons to LA Clippers for Zubac.

I googled “Phoenix GM on Jalen green” and this is what came up

"Jalen is an explosive scorer who has already shown impressive productivity across the board throughout his young career," Gregory said. "His athleticism and natural ability are off the charts.

Tom Orsborn‬

Showing off his sense of humor, Luke Kornet tells us one of the reasons he chose No. 7 is he hopes to be “a third of the player Tim Duncan was.”

Bummer. Says the C's are no longer getting 2 2nds in the deal.

Simons doesn't fit in the Jazz' new TPE from the John Collins trade, but guess who does? That's right. Kyle "I'm cheaper than Anfernee Simons" Kuzma fits in quite nicely.

No. Because none of those moves were official until today.

??? Apparently Jrue’s medicals got flagged and now the trade is just Simons for Jrue

My guess is Jrue's third year $37M player option showed up on an MRI

How much?

Seemed like a great guy to take a chance on (if he is around the same price as Garza)

Not an NBA player.

Neither is Garza.
