God I wish we had more picks to pull off a Murphy trade.

Kevin Pritchard gave kind of a weird interview where he still seems a little shell-shocked. I kind of believe they thought they had him coming back and probably thought they could keep the offer low. Guessing Turner took their word that they couldnt go higher and Bucks forced him into a quick answer due to the Dame situation sensitivity.

Reported deals that haven't yet posted on the transaction wire, in order of initial report (as I remember it):

Trent
Prince
Harris
Sims
Rollins

Including those guys, I think we have 13 (2 open roster spots). Does not include Bogi.

Giannis Antetokounmpo
Myles Turner
Kyle Kuzma
Bobby Portis
Kevin Porter Jr
Taurean Prince
Gary Trent
A.J. Green
Andre Jackson Jr
Tyler Smith
Gary Harris
Jericho Sims
Ryan Rollins

KPJ is far from a finished piece of work. He was impressive at the end of last season, but I felt he had his biggest successes early in the 4th quarter when Giannis was on the bench. And many of those 4th quarter blitzes were not team oriented offense with player and ball movement, but rather one guy taking over. Not a bad thing to have, but that is something that is pretty easy to plan for and stifle. I'm excited to see if he progresses on that path or if he reverts to the efforts that motivated the Clippers to trade him for Marjon Beauchamp.

Otherwise, I love his numbers per 36 minutes with the Bucks last year.

So this was taken care of. No specification on the amount, but it must be enough to enable the Turner signing.

Thank god all these Euro gods are fast quitters!

Monk would fit well because he can’t hit three play off ball, plays fast, and can create for himself when needed.

I’d even toss in an unprotected swap on the 32 pick to get that trade to go through. It’s the Kangz, that won’t convey even if Giannis is washed by then.

Maybe don’t lowball a guy who’s been on the team for 10 years to try and save some luxury tax. Guarantee if they told him from the start, “here’s our initial offer but if you get a higher offer, we will absolutely match it even if it puts us in the tax”, he would be back with the Pacers.

Instead it seems like they lowballed him hoping no one could beat their offer and Horst likely said “this is our offer but it’s only good during this call because of the sensitive nature of the roster moves we’d have to make.”

Smart move by Turner to take the higher offer for more years since no guarantee the Pacers would have matched the Bucks offer. They can say they would have now since they don’t actually have to and won’t be paying the tax.

What about Kuzma and AJJ for Monk and Murray? Maybe we throw in a 32 pick swap but if need be throw in a 31 first…

I'm not defending them. I'm just saying I believe they wanted him back and were just being cheap thinking there were no other offers. He basically said the Bucks came out of nowhere and was blindsided by it.

I’d throw in the 31 1st and 32 swap for that. Murray gives you a real SF and Monk gives you another creator. Both should fit well with GA.

Bucks all of a sudden would have waves of talented guards to roll out there (KPJ, Rollins, AJG, GTJ, Murray, Monk) which is essentially what got the Pacers to the finals. Just throwing waves of effective guards out there with Siakim and Turner. None of the Bucks guards are as good as Hali but Siakim isn’t as good as GA.

Only playing those six guards plus GA/Turner/Bobby filling all the minutes at the 4/5 with Sims available to break glass in case of emergency is a heck of a top nine in the rotation.

I was just pointing out the Pacers are now simply covering their butts and trying to blame Turner for not giving them a chance to match. They could have just paid him before free agency started. The fact they didn’t proves luxury tax was driving their actions, no matter what they say now.

Horst gets a lot of flak and yes he's been a poor drafter and not every move works out (same as with every GM) but he completely blindsided the Pacers and I'm here to give him his props for that.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Green seemed like a guy who'd be repped by his uncle or cousin, and it turns out I'm not far off. His agent is Matt Bollero...recent scouting director for the Bucks. Probably scouted him for us shortly before he became a pro. Team friendly deal incoming...

My guess is Beal ends up in LA 1 way or another. Clips just opened up his spot in the rotation trading Norm Powell and the Lakers starting 5 will look appealing now as well Reaves/Beal/Luka/Lebron/Ayton.

I hope waiting for Beal to not consider the Bucks won’t hold anything up in the mean time.

The Lakers complement him even worse than Phoenix. He's one of four perimeter creators & they have a suspect defense. If he went there, it truly wouldn't be about basketball or future financial interests.

I think the Clips are pretty suspect too. They have a better defensive foundation than the vast majority, but offensively it'd be similar w/ him being clear 3rd perimeter option to Harden & Kawhi. It's us, if it's not totally about the location.

I keep thinking back to the all star game selection when Beal was the last to get picked

Does that logic means he has an MVP season still in him?

Still surprised we couldn't get a dime back from Dame. Basically gave the guy a lotto ticket.
